Thanks Peter. I thought they were projecting Smith as a linebacker. Another thing. Are you satisfied with the speed of these linebackers. I think that hurt us this year.

gotta hold on to Kaaya, Valentine and Bethel. JC Jackson added into the mix will be great.

I was concerned for safety spot as well but no longer. The main concern for me would be the lb position, hoping Barrow can coach his *** off with these guys coming in and who we currently have. When DP leaves who will be our big bruiser lb? Sure won't be Grace or Figueroa, hate to look at recruiting services but we do not have many four star recruits at this position. Sucks missing out on M. Thomas and Skai.

I always wonder if a kid like Denard Robinson looks back (or will look back) at his decision and regret not playing another position (especially CB in the case of Denard).

I still feel he would have been a fabulous CB for Miami had he come the realization that his professional future was not going to be at QB. Would he trade all the "shoelace" glory of his first few years at Michigan for the chance to be a 1st round CB?

I'm not sure the answer. I think Treon to a lesser extent could be having these same thoughts some day.

Well, now he's going to be trying to play QB for a couple of years and ultimately end up at DB...all the while recruiting all the best kids from the inner city for FSU.

Just Like Devonta Freeman? Cause we've gotten more Central kids since hes been there than FSU has. How about Matt Thomas? I thought Bethel, CThomas and Mark Walton were locks for FSU since he is up there? Funny we have 4 BTW kids committed to us in these next 2 classes but Treon and MT6 were gonna get em all to FSU.

Thank you very much Peter. I hope you are right on Valentine sticking and qualifying. If they hold everyone and add JC and a JUCO LB, this is a top 5 class, IMO. Do you think they will try to add someone like Ishmael to get a 4th WR?

BTW, I think you are missing an important angle on Treon. The fact is that it is a political situation that has to be handled delicately. Best thing is to be honest and more importantly avoid a headache. If they offered him as a QB, and he didn't win the job in a year, you can bet Ice would be ****ed and no matter what the staff said, he would be convinced they were ******* his kid over and he would retaliate AGAIN. They already got ****ed by that dude last year, they aren't gonna ask for BTW drama again. No way in ****. Play it safe and stay away. Al can see from a mile away what would happen with Treon. Ice would force the staff to keep him at QB and start him no matter what under threat of cutting off the pipeline. The staff doesn't need to have a gun to their head like that. It isn't worth it. They are playing this the right way.

I like the class its just seems to be missing something...I have no idea what it is that would settle a lot of the fan base...

However, I do want to see this staff continue to push for elite prospects...and I do not want to see Al pitch a last second
ditch at a kid that is not deserving of a UM scholly and will ultimately wind up a JAG...If we can't get more kids that can
help immediately save the scholly...

This trickle down effect on future recruits from Cook, Harris, and Lane not coming to Miami can be avoided if Jimbo take the Texas job. I read a few article today that suggests that contract extension as a non factor with fishers future. Some articles are strongly suggesting that he will be the next coach in Texas in a week or two. This would help our recruiting a lot in the present & future.

Thanks Pete. I agree Treon was a big piece on the board & we played it wrong. I think AG couldve expressed to Ice & Treon that he felt the best position for him was db, BUT he'd be willing to give em a fair shot at QB if he'd be a Cane. Thats my take, but maybe its not that simple.

It's missing a conformation that Derrick Griffen has qualified for Miami & will be enrolling soon.

Pete, what with Derrick Griffin being being listed as a TE? I Thought he was a WR.

**** Cook and Lane. Matt Thomas seems to be a bit injury prone. Who knows if he'll ever do anything at Florida State.

There are going to be a few players we will end up scratching our head over when this class is able to be evaluated. A few too many South Florida kids not offered or slow played / played the wrong way while we take some OOS players won't be nearly as good as other players around the country. Rosier over Treon Harris sticks out. Not offering a late riser like Dowels is another. I can't complain about our wide receiver haul, but I can't help but look at the group of players in our back yard that are going to be solid contributors around the country that we just didn't give the time of day to. Same with DB, which is the case most years. I like Gayot and Hester, I also take Bethel every time. JC Jackson would be a welcomed addition. But players like Dowels, Al Harris Jr., Michael Johnson, Treon Harris, among others are going to be ballers, too, wherever they end up.

No it wouldn't. Not when Charlie Strong takes the job!

No because it took him playing qb in order to make the league as a mediocre rb... If he played another position he probably wouldn't amounted to much... His overall goal was to play in the NFL and he made it... That being everything could have turned out to be contrary to my assumptions but I doubt he regrets being the face of the Michigan team for 4 years...

You just ruined a good scenario for me man. Strong going to FSU would be horrible for us.

Injury-prone? He's only a freshman and he was injured this year... I mean come on... Yearby is injured, it doesn't make him injury prone...

I haven't heard anything to make it a for sure, I'm just saying who I would hire if I was their AD. The man just beat UF and Miami in back to back bowl games, and has a chance to beat FSU soon because they will play each other every year. He can already recruit South Florida and he is doing it at Lousiville, just imagine what he could do at FSU. Yeah I think they are smart enough to go after him first! It might be an upgrade for them actually!

I believe he was pretty banged up his senior year of HS as well.

I think this is nonsense... If he is truly beaten out why do you assume Ice would be upset? What has led you to believe that Ice wants his son to be given a position? Harris just wants an opportunity to compete for the qb gig... We keep bringing up "Ice will be mad"... He hasn't shown any signs unless he feels his kids aren't given a fair shot... I mean, yea last year was a mess but when a coach pulls your kid scholly, of course you'll be upset... Especially if the staff changes it's tune and re-offers the scholly...

I think the assumptions of Ice is nonsense and a poor excuse for looking over a productive qb...
