Yearby and Powell all day, we don't need another running back...

I think you will see a lot the elite talent reconsider their commitments by the end of the year. Not saying we land them all but you have to remember that the 2 biggest negative recruiting undertones were the NCAA sanctions and the idea that UM was no longer a winning program and couldn't play with the big boys. We will win 10 games this year and NCAA mess will be over (for better or worse) and this will give Golden the platform to go mono y mono and my money is on the Don to win most of these battles.

Reading between the lines ... it's always seemed as if Golden has said (without saying) that Florida is one of, if not the worst negative recruiting program bringing up NCAA sanctions, etc.

Oh they are by miles. FSU wasn't that bad, it's pretty much been Florida.

I was going to post this. A couple coachs have mentioned this.

I sat next to Cook and his mother, who was decked out in Gator colors and had a gator sticker on her face, and I can tell you there's not a chance in **** we flip this kid. His mother talked about how the gators were much bigger and much better than the Canes all **** day and had absolutely nothing nice to say about Miami. I was also at the Central game on Friday and came away very impressed with Cook as a RB prospect. Can't win them all but I sure wish we could win this one. Cooks going to be a good one for sure. BTW, Cook and his mother did leave after Duke scored late.

...He also kept a public diary when committed to Clemson. Tells me he goes hard when committed to something but is fickle. Makes me think there's definitely a chance to flip him.

Just b/c a recruited walked out of the stadium w a straight or serious face doesn't mean he was mad or didn't enjoy himself.

He's probably unhappy with the hole he's dug for himself, dropping Miami. I would think the kid would be very conflicted over what he's done.

Maybe she had her hand out early and came away empty. Then she was put in touch with a generous Bull Gator....

For anyone who saw the BTW vs. Central stream, there is really no noticeable difference between Yearby and Cook. For any team to get a star caliber running back (Edwards 13', Yearby & Powell 14') in 2 consecutive classes is impressive. The gaytors need a home run hitter at running back and Cook from all appearances seems to really be committed to them. What he needs to do is visit g'ville in the off season and see what its like then. There just ain't nothing to do in that town no matter what your tastes are.

I was there years ago and there was plenty of weed to smoke....Beyond that, I have no idea.

Once again, great job, Pete. Thanks for keeping us informed!

I'm not going to post about this kid again but take a look at the programs Cook has been committed to and ask yourself, did we ever have a fighting chance. ****, even gator fans know what's going on here.

I am not a fan of Lane, but unless there is some cash consideration in play, I predict he flips before season's end.

He couldn't be happy with their passing game, took very few chances downfield.
