I hope nothing for the best for Trent Harris and his future at Miami and beyond, but I sure didn't want to hear that he's the guy I should expect to get more snaps as a defensive leader. He looked like the classic "I'm smart and I go hard so coaches love me" kid last year - which are good things - but he didn't look like someone who's going to impact a game. Very hopeful he'll make me look foolish and dominate this year.

Pete I love ya bro but you're wrong about willis. We're not even pursuing a waiver for him to play because it's a moot point.

You mean to tell me that Golden's "under the radar" evaluations are having a hard time getting on the field?

No way!

Thanks for the update Pete! Trent Harris huh? That's good stuff.

:umuni2:

I don't really see that as laughable. Kid has a great first step off the ball and reminded me of Olivier Vernon a little bit.

I'm a fan dude. Not meant as a joke. The laugh on top was meant for the surprise of seeing The Work return. Trent Harris is a baller. That's his reaction to the jerseys last summer. I hope Pete is right on his prediction.

The Mike Smith story makes great contrast to what JJ did to make THE U great. JJ would take quick LBs and make them fast DEs. Al takes DEs and makes the slow LBs. JJ moved players on defense forward to increase speed at each level. JJ wanted wolves at each level, except DT where he wants a couple grizzle bears with quick feet. Al goes the other way to increase size at each level. Al wants fat cows, average cows and lean cows at the three levels of defense except DT where he wants some sort of bolder. The difference that makes on the recruiting side is small ankles and round butts vs thick ankles and lard butts. Al is trying to create the very team that JJ embarrassed out of college football -- and people wonder why we do not like Al Golden.

This, McCord would've been a **** raiser in JJ's defense at DE.

Thanks for the update on Gadbois, now we can put that to rest. Dude made it sound like Golden just dropped him out of nowhere. Between you and the poster in the Gadbois thread, it appears Taylor was fully aware of his situation.

The problem is that Al has been throwing players under the bus for several years now, so he has no credibility for truth. With all due respect, Pete's "source" might or might not be worth a crap. We live in a world of disinformation and have an institution that has be run by one of the queens of it for 15 years. We cannot trust "sources" in it, from it, or about it.

My basic nature, disposition, and belief system leads me to always side with authority, but our BOT, Donna, and Al have beaten it out of me. I do not trust any of them as far as I can throw Mark hanging on to Al. Accordingly, my take on this is this: kid tried to commit to Al's get fat program by using deer spray, but refused to accept the loser mentality Al sweats out of every pore so Al use first to punish him for the second.

By the way, how is that kid doing. He is still in our prayers.

Mike Smith take your time... we gonna get it right... i still have faith in you young whoopasnappa

so it seems like our atrocious depth at OL is on par with our depth at DB

We should never lack for talented DB's in South Florida. EVER!

Seriously pathetic.

yeah when u are from Bama and Bama and Auburn are not fighting to keep you, it worries me. i dont want to hear he has Florida roots and wanted to leave Bama so they didnt bother. End of day, we will keep losing CB's until williams is gone. we are lucky we got redwing.

Redwine is my sleeper breakout DB. He has to show out cause his best friend getting all the praise (he should though cause he's an SF legend) and he has size instincts and work ethic. He'll ball out.

Hopefully Mike Smith sticks to it and gets his degree. One dimensional, under sized players don't stand a chance in this defense, and will at best contribute a few snaps a game as a red shirt senior when they have reached the front of the line for that role.

i meant we were lucky because Paul Williams openly talked crap about the kid. surprised the kid signed with us.
