Anyone who thinks this class and close is anything but great is just ridiculous. The Mcfarland **** sucked, but getting Dean who can and will contribute day 1, flipping Henderson and Herbert (from Florida and Bama no less) is freaking unbelievable. We havent had a staff make moves like this IN A LONG TIME! Dont forget, a huge need was quarterback and we have had Perry and Weldon locked for a while now. After the bowl win, Harley was viewed as gone and Thomas was a huge ?. Now it looks like they are both locks. Anyway you look at it our staff gets an A-. In years to come we wont lose a Jerry Juedy or Anthony Mcfarland and will be crushing everyone on and off the field! LETS GO CANES! 2017 begins our march to national dominance. It truly is GREAT TO BE A MIAMI HURRICANE

Well put. Agree 100%.

Anybody got what Bandy is predicting on the front page of CS?

says he's not sure on henderson and edwards, but feels good about harley, thomas, and dean

Womp womp

Womp womp nothing....
As much as you want them to go elsewhere...

— Top247 cornerback Christopher Henderson apparently did not visit Miami on Sunday as expected. Alabama has backed out of this one, so they are no longer considered a threat. After this recruitment leaning to UF for several months, the Hurricanes look to have overcome the Gators in the past couple of weeks.

— Florida hosted three-star cornerback/safety Brian Edwards on an official visit this weekend. Miami and Louisville are the two other teams in the race, but most see the Hurricanes being the team to beat. Edwards has visited UM plenty this fall and winter, while he has only been to UF two times since the summer.

Listen to Pete, they comin

Good news. Appreciate it brock, I thank the contributions u give unlike half the idiots on this board who just post dribble.

We're still downplaying the talents of South FLA kids who don't chose Miami? How many times have we done that only to see a kid go onto college and do well?

The kid's good and we weren't able to snag him. Get over it. We'll be fine. No need to start spewing feeling-motivated BS.

One of my biggest pet peeves is when fans dismiss the kids we don't get. It's almost like a Defense mechanism.

It's really not. This class is loaded with studs who as recent as 30 days ago weren't even considering the U.

So everyone should mope around complain about guys we didn't get (who are good players.) instead of feeling good about the guys we did get (who are also good players.)?

I agree - but only if we do in fact land Thomas, Harley, Dean, Henderson (Edwards would be great too, but the previous 4 alone, along with Herbert flip is a great way top finish '17 class. Not to mention 10 EEs)

Nobody's saying to mope. Just don't pretend like the guys we missed out on are scrubs. We do it every year with guys we miss. (and they almost always go onto the next level and excel)

****, we were doing it with Harley when everybody thought he was leaving to WVU.

I still think Smith is a silent. Pete has been very quiet about him lately. The fact that we did not offer a RB after McFarland flipped? Why visit if you are already committed? This is a different cat. I think he is gonna be in this class.

Dude you are out of your mind. Smith isn't even really considering us. Never was . It is LSU or Bama .Also he has contacted bryant so I bet he gets an offer.

Don't care if he goes to LSU or Bama as long as he doesn't go to FSU. Both LSU and Bama do nothing but run the ball so fine if he wants to waste his potential with toothless hillbillies. Even better when Saban retires in a couple of years and he gets stuck on a team plunging back into mediocrity. If he ends up as a Nole he goes on my list Billy Madison style.

Yes spot on . But don't mention Juedy as that is like mentioning Smith . Why mention guys we never had a shot with? Macfarland is a loss but at a spot we have guys ahead of him.

You're not going to give it, but would love your honest take about McFarland and Smith and what happened with each. Not really new information, I guess, but just how things went down and where we can improve moving forward

dude improve on what? you sound just like these whinny snow flakes on here still talking about something we cant control. if we get 80% or 90% of our targets we have won. those days when we use to cherry pick are gone. and it was a metaphor sorry.

No. However, when posters try to convince themselves that Jeudy, Smith, MacFarland, etc., are not big losses or talented, it's ******* pathetic. Such an irrational response. Don't get me wrong, **** those guys for going to other school's but to diminish their talents and importance to this class is moronic.

Seems to be a nice class, it's not 2016 or 2014 , but I see some future NFL guys.

I think this class is better than those.

In which positions are they better?

Overall, it is a better class. Our OL and DL is far superior than those classes, which is important to me. The QB's in this class are serious. If Miami lands Henderson, Edwards and Dean, the DB's are superior. I am really excited about these kids.

You have got to be joking. The 2014 class? Who do you like from that group? In this class you got Thomas, Donaldson, Perry, Deejay, D.J., Dean, Carter, Bandy, etc. who all seem to be great. If we close with Dean, Edwards, Henderson, Thomas, and Harley then this is a great class! On paper, best since '08.

Jeff Thomas - Announcing Wednesday 10AM on ESPNU

In what should be good exposure for Mark Richt and the Canes on signing day, Thomas will announce his decision his decision live on ESPNU from his school. Thomas was Miami's to lose heading into the weekend and the fact that he cancelled his Oregon OV is even more of a signal that the Canes are in good shape. The last wide receiver to pick Miami on ESPNU? Stacy Coley.

Mike Harley - Announcing Wednesday 10:15 AM on CBS Sports' National Signing Day Special

Harley to Miami is the worst-kept secret out there at this point, but it's another nationally-televised announced which Richt has to love. The speed that him and Thomas would bring is just what the doctor ordered.

C.J. Henderson - Announcing Noon Wednesday at Columbus - CanesInSight will be live on-site

Everything that I've heard with Henderson points to him signing with Miami on signing day. Late last week, sources said that the Columbus speedster had informed all staffs recruiting him (Miami, UF, Alabama) of his decision. A source close to Henderson told me last that nothing had changed since then and unless something changes, it will be the Hurricanes. This could end up being the biggest snag for Miami down the stretch just based on the battle itself. Not only were the Gators in the lead for a substantial portion of time, but this is a guy who Nick Saban wanted badly at cornerback.

Brian Edwards - Announcing Wednesday at Miramar (Time TBD) - CanesInSight will be live on-site

Edwards went through with his scheduled visit to UF this weekend, but Miami is still in position to land his signature come Wednesday morning. Not only is his family fully on-board with the Hurricanes, but the combined recruiting effort of Mike Rumph and Ephraim Banda won Edwards over last week, according to sources. Florida is not confident on their chances either. Side note: Miami loved Edwards' attitude and demeanor on the official visit last weekend and defensive coaches believe he will see the field early and often next season.

Jhavonte Dean - Announcing Wednesday and Blinn Junior College (Time TBD)

Dean has been a heavy Canes lean since early December and nothing has changed. Anything other than Miami would be a surprise for the south Florida native.

Jordan Pouncey - Announcing Wednesday via commitment video on Twitter (Time TBD)

The latest buzz here has been Texas and I'm not sure this is a decision that Canes coaches will lose much sleep over. It does not appear that he has been a priority for the staff and they are satisfied with a receivers class of Evidence Njoku, Thomas, and Harley.

Pete didn't Pouncey already verbal to the coaches. Think he was upset about the fact that we couldn't assure him of a spot. I have been told that Miami will send him an LOI for Wednesday. Hopefully he chooses us.
