I know i cant be the only dude that thinks he is better then Rosier

We need to all let the Treon Harris topic go, he's committed to FSU to live out his dream as a back-up "QB".....

Miami doesnt need another QB in this class even if Kaaya de-commits imo. Trayone Gray and Malik Rosier can suffice for this year. None of them would even be the 2nd string QB until 4 years from now anyway.

Can't have a class with just Gray and Rosier.

Why not?.... QB should be last on the list of positions to stack. Miami doesnt have that luxury not knowing what the sanctions are going to be to get 3 QBs in 1 class. Treon Harris is no better quality a QB then those 2, so it would be a waist to use a schollie on him, even if he would consider it, which i doubt it.

Malik Rosier may end up being legit for all we know.

Miami needs to use every remaining scholarship on locking up as many receivers, DBs, and DTs as possible. Even if Kaaya decommits that schollie should be used on a receiver, DB, or DT as well.

I'm not saying offer Harris as a QB, I'm saying you can't have Rosier and Gray as your only QBs.

Olsen was Fisch's guy, not Coley's. And we only have Williams for one year.

You're comfortable going into 2015 with Olsen, Crow, Rosier and Gray as your QBs? I'm not.

**** yeah i'd be more then comfortable personally, only 1 QB can play at a time.... K. Olsen would be a redshirt sophomore, G. Crow would be a redshirt junior, and Rosier and Gray would just be redshirt freshman.

That's plenty of depth for 1 season, no other QB besides Brad Kaaya would be ready to compete for a job at that point in time anyway thats even out there..... Quinton Flowers and Treon Harris aint pushing Olsen or Crow for a spot in 2015. So just use the ship for another position.

I think Brad Kaaya is going to stick but if he doesnt then Miami should just take the L at QB for this class and just get another QB in 2015.

You cannot take just Rosier and Gray at QB. You just can't.

End of discussion.

2 QBs in one class is more then enough.... there is NO other QB worth taking if Kaaya doesnt end up here.

Alin Edouard, Treon Harris, and Quinton Flowers arent any better than Malik Rosier and Trayone Gray.

Those are just South FL QBs, I'm sure Coley would find someone nationally.

I agree that we as Canes fans need to let the Treon Harris ship sail.

Wrong.

One thing we learned during the Jimmy Johnson era is that you always take a QB, every year. We had some periods where guys left or didin't work out, and we were very very thin. We had to go out and find Geoff Torretta to back up Vinnie. When Bill Turkowski from Pittsburgh didn't work out we had to find somebody to be 3rd behind Walsh and Erickson. (Turkowski transferred to Pitt where they made him a TE.) That ended up being a former punter, who had played some HS QB, Kirk Sandifer. God forbid if we had to go to Sandifer. We were desperate that year, '87, fortunately, Walsh stayed healthy.

Johnson said after those experiences, you recruit a QB every year.

Look what happened to Coker, to struck out time and again at QB. We were grasping at straws.

So, you never know what happens, but you bring in a QB every year.

QB's have a way of not working out--think of Kenny Kelly, Alan Hall, Turkowski, Greg Jones, Joey Coles....

Rosier might be a lot better than a lot of you think.

Of course, we have the resident geniuses, like nystateofmind, who think they know for sure. Please, don't waste your brilliance and certitude here, but go into politics. Or write for the NY Times....

Hahahaha.

My man, when did I say Rosier was bad!? Never. All I said was Coley needs two of his QBs in this class. And Gray does not count.

Gray has zero shot at playing QB here

Watching Treon Harris playing safety for FSU is going to be really annoying if he turns out good.

His desire to play QB is unrealistic and if he really thinks Jimbo is offering him there he is delusional.

Agree, but it's the decision he needs to make for himself. For him to make it to the league he needs to play a different position.

How about you check his film again.

Rosier will def compete for the starting QB position here in the next 2-3 years.

I love our QB class of Kaaya and Rosier, and I think Kaaya sticks, he is a high character kid who has been recruiting for us.

Gray is not a QB, maybe at GT but not at Miami.

I really liked Rosier's film, but he was disappointing at the camp. Short and a bit wild in terms of accuracy. Strong arm, though.

I think he is gonna look really good after a red shirt, let this kid get coached up, he has tons of potential.

He's been wild this season too. His completion percentage is poor. That's the thing about those highlight films. They never show all the bad throws, so all you see is a guy with a strong arm making good throws. You don't see the other 50% that he threw badly.

This is true but the completion percentage good be poor because:

a. He has poor accuracy, or

b. His WR/TE have a case of the drops

When we see these highlight tapes, we only see the "highlights." So they likely are not going to show film of Rosier missing his target or a WR dropping a pass. The coaches have the film, they can tell more then we can.

All I gotta say is that it seems as though Coley has a pretty good eye for QB talent (USC and UCLA finally offering Kaaya and him being an Elite 11 QB and 4 star now), and he offered Kaaya before anyone wanted to, and even after we had Kaaya and another QB(Edouard) and all the South FL QBs that all the homers on this board want were still available, and so was Isom and Coley still went hard after Rosier, and obviously wanted him more than Isom, Treon, Flowers, White, and Edouard.

Like I said, I love our QB class of Brad Kaaya and Malik Rosier, and IMO we should not try to bring in another QB unless that player(Treon Harris or Quinton Flowers) is cool with switching to another position(WR/DB) if they don't make at least 3rd string QB.

Can't have a player with the athletic ability of Treon Harris or Quinton Flowers buried on the QB depth chart when they could be in the 2 deep at WR or DB.

Thanks, Pete. We got the usual high quality - and timely - football update and a Canes hoop bonus. Great stuff.
