**Yesterday, a tweet emerged saying Butch Davis was at the Biltmore having drinks with Jackson Health CEO Carlos Migoya. It is unsure what role Migoya has in the coaching search, but a source tells me that Migoya had lunch with Mario Cristobal today at Christy’s in the Gables. It is entirely possible that Migoya is serving as some sort of middleman in the process. Cristobal was in Miami today recruiting.

**Sources close to Cristobal indicate that he already has an idea of who he would include on his staff. James Coley would be retained most likely. Bama DB Coach Mel Tucker would be a frontrunner to become defensive coordinator. Marshall OL coach Alex Mirabal would replace Kehoe.

**Do not count out Cristobal on being part of Rob Chudzinski’s staff if Chud is the guy. Mario’s brother, Luis, was Chud’s roommate at Miami and the families are close.

**I can also confirm the reports that Charlie Strong does have interest in this job. Sources close to his agent Jimmy Sexton say that Strong may not be all that happy in Texas. Interestingly enough, Dennis Dodd wrote last week that power agent Jimmy Sexton would love to get one of his clients in this race. Scroll to the section on Mark Stoops –

It is scary to think THE U is even considering Mario with Butch sitting saying "take me, take me!". I will note one thing for what it is worth, Butch had evening ****tails with the obvious point man one what is starting to look more like a Frenk move to assume real power; Mario had lunch at the kids table. I am Butch's age and for us, evening drinks is way more than a lunch. You go to lunch with a secretary in hopes of a nooner; the wife, you meet for drinks before dinner.

The real interest here is Butch, Greg, Mario, maybe Chud. All the other names are mostly looking for Golden contract extensions and pay raises. The one I worry about is Frankin. I think he is a socail climber, which is not bad for us, and his hopes of sliding from PSU showers to NFL are not working out well. Winning at Miami is the surest way to NFL HC. I don't want him. He is another "but he won at ......" coach. Al burned that bridge for me. No way Strong is in this. His buy out is huge regardless of if he is nervous at UT. Just play by his agent.

Is it great to see that Butch being over here was indeed ALL ABOUT THE U baby!!!!!!

I think Channing Crowder made the best argument on Wario, his name isn't in consideration with other vacancies, and if had not gone to UM we wouldn't even be talking about him ***** Laz and Manolo

Those that are telling people to let this play out are misguided. You cannot have any faith right now. This is the UM administration we're talking about here. The same administration who didn't have the foresight to fire Al last year because they wanted to save money, despite firing him anyway mid season this year, and wasting what could have been a decent year under a new staff to build. Not to mention, you had coaches like Hue Jackson and Mark Stoops inquiring about possibly taking over last year. Hue Jackson is a big miss, but even bigger was hiring Randy Shannon over Gary Patterson (unbelievable).

The fact you have guys like Cristobal, Schiano, Kiffin, Shula, and even Chud being mentioned as likely candidates is terrible. I can maybe understand Chud being considered, but he shouldn't be high on the list. The other guys are terrible coaches. No other program would even entertain these candidates, yet we want them cause they have ties to Miami? It's so silly and sad the horrible logic behind that. They're already starting in the wrong direction. Hopefully, I'm wrong and things are changing in Coral Gables, but until proven otherwise, I have no faith in this administration.

Simple, if you fly banners for a guy that hasn't even been interviewed, you're a joke. The whole nation will rip you. None of us know anything and if they wanted to hire him they could have last time with less valid candidates. If they didn't then, they won't now.

You're hearing their names because current head coaches won't talk until after the season. None of those guys have been interviewed or even confirmed by media. You've heard names tossed around. At the end very few of those guys will be around and other names will join the conversation. This is a long process. Hopefully we don't make ourselves look so dumb nationally that no coach wants to come here. It's one thing to fly banners for a failing coach but when you start flying banners for people that haven't even been interviewed you look like idiots.

Even if those names haven't been officially released by UM or interviewed, what makes you think this administration is not going to **** this up? Empirical evidence suggest otherwise. The fact insiders and the media are speculating and revealing sources linked to these ****** candidates is enough to cause of concern.
