So Golden has spent 4 years telling us how much the cloud has affected recruiting, now they are saying recruits never were worried about it but the fans though. Hahahaha. Thats it , im done

I maybe on the minority, but not sure what everyone is seeing in Kaaya. Looked K against bad teams, looked bad against decent teams.

Um he was in Highschool 3 months before his first start, limited wrs, injuries on the o-line.

Even with that he made NFL reads and throws.

Just needs to get stronger and improve his accuracy.

We are talking about a player that has top 5 pick potential.

It's too early to say top 5 pick. I'll say his top quality is decision making and composure but I don't know about NFL reads and throws. He struggled with the deep ball and he made questionable reads at times. He has a long way to go. He benefitted from having a premier back, a veteran line, and playmaking wideout and tight end.

I think he can be special due to his maturity and absence of forcing things. Top 5 is a bit extreme. However, his intelligence and patience as a true freshman brings a lot of promise. I don't think he leaves in 3 years. I actually think we'll see a regression due to the veteran absence. However, he is going to be good but top 5 is a bit extreme.

Top 5 isn't extreme at all for a QB that has all the measurables and should fully develop in the next two years before he can actually apply for the draft. You have to keep in mind that a QB does not have to be perfect to be drafted high, if EJ Manuel, Christian Ponder, and Blaine Gabbart can go as high as they did i see no reason why Kaaya couldn't. Kaaya has more potential than all 3 of those guys combined.

Gabbert, Ponder, and Manuel didn't go top 5. I don't quite see Kaaya going top 5. However the examples you gave are good examples because I do think Kaaya will be eventually better than those qbs. I never thought Gabbert was that good. He put up okay numbers in a spread yet he went 1st round. Ponder was inaccurate beyond 10 yards but the Vikes was dumb enough to draft him. And EJ had the potential to be Cam 2.0 but he was too scared and was scared he'll make a mistake yet the Bills drafted him in the 1st. I do think Kaaya has potential but top 5 picks are game changers and I don't think he's there yet. He has a ways to go. I don't see him leaving in 3 years as many here does. I think he'll play all 4. I don't see top 5 yet.

Next year the emphasis in recruiting needs to be d-line and cb
We solidified WR & LB for 16 just got to hold on to them
We really addressed o-line this year

Exact same thing was said last year based on the ridiculous number of top 2015 db talent in SFL. Lol this isht is wild.

Jesus Christ, you simply can't expect a true freshmen to put a team on his shoulders. This fanbase expects the most ridiculous **** because they wear a U on their helmets. A true freshman QB at the D1 level is a bytch and a half. The fact Kaaya overcame his crap *** OC and HC to become a freshman AA speak volumes.

If Brad can match Bernie Kosars redshirt freshman year confidence and command as a sophomore, it would be beyond expectation.

I actually think Coley did well calling plays for Brad. He called a simple game and rode Duke all year. I think as we saw against USCe who had a horrible defense, that once our running game was stalled we had no offense. Everyone talks about FSU. We didn't lose that game because we went conservative, FSU just adjusted. We threw just as many passes in the 2nd half as we did in the 1st. FSU finally stop using their DE in coverage(Walford was killing Edwards and Casher) and protected the middle.

Kaaya wasn't ready to carry the team but he perform really well. But I think Coley called good plays for Kaaya. He limited his down field routes and through a lot of intermediate and underneath passed unless Dorsett beat the secondary. I don't remember anyone else catching a deep pass this year.

The mopes. They wont leave our jesus El foldo alone, his life has been so hard, his hands hurt from collecting millions for doing nothing. The mean fans wont leave him alone. Sap sap. The mopes

They're all okay.

Just adding some balance to the discussion. Brad Kaaya has been such a lone bright spot that I don't want folks to get blinded by the lack of background.

That is fair. But I just think Rix is a bad example. Buddy was running around, being an athlete and making plays that year. It didn't take a rocket scientist to see he had nothing between the ears. And it showed throughout his career.

Kaaya looks to have that "it" factor and looks to be able to grasp the offense. Lets hope he can take that next step this year. We will know what we have by this time next year. And the debate will be settled.

What Kaaya did was amazing. One of the best frosh seasons ever. Lets hope he takes that next step like Goff did at Cal.

This has somehow turned into a Kaaya thread.

RB situation is going to be fun and very intriguing! In my personal opinion Gus Edwards is not a Miami Caliber back but I believe the staff will roll with him. Nonetheless its going be fun to watch Yearby, Gus, Trayone, Scarlett, and Walton battle for carries.

Manny said a lot of boosters have been saying blake james has told them that changes will be made after signing day.

I wouldn't wait on that ****.

If this is actually true, then we're in even bigger trouble than I thought.

Doesn't this seem slimy to anyone else? Have an assistant coach recruit a kid and get him to sign with the U and then fire the guy right after signing day occurs?

I just don't see any way that this is going to happen.

It's a slimy buisness
So what now? Miami is not supposed to do what everyone else does? Give me a break with that sh*t.... Golden knows sh*t can not stay the same. Or at least I hope he does.

Maybe I'm behind the times but is this a common practice? I don't recall it being the case in the past but maybe I just don't pay enough attention to this stuff once signing day occurs.

I think Golden knows he is on the hotseat. He must know he cannot afford to have another season like the last one.

Gus Edwards should be moved to hback and showcased in a variety of ways

Schleep... Gus got the goods for a big back. I liked what I seen out of him....

Maybe because Brad Kaaya is our top recruiter at the moment. Its a strange phenomenon. Granted, players often recruit for their teams but it seems this year, the coaching staff is so ****ed up that a few key players (Kaaya, Chad Thomas, and a couple others) have taken the lead. I think that's critical seeing as how Kaaya, Chad Thomas, et al will be around UM longer than anyone on the coaching staff.

Strange times at UM.
