DE Caleb Herring (Tennessee)

A native of Mufreesboro (near Nashville), the 6'5, 245-pounder is a former Top 100 prospect who made 14 tackles with six tackles for loss and four sacks on a career-high 369 defensive snaps in 2025. He has one year of eligibility.

Bro 14 total tackles in 369 defensive snaps is horrible!! WTF was this guy doing out there?! That’s not even good for a two gaping DT! Stevie wonder could’ve gotten more than 14 tackles in 369 snaps! I would take an effort guy who produces any day even if he’s less athletic.

If we get Leavitt, we will be a legit contender for the natty and will FINALLY win this miserable, self-hating conference on the dawn of its demise.

Have you watched SEC recently?

Texas Tech played good Defensive all year
Yeah.. but they also were by far more talented than anyone in the BIG12

Literally went and brought the best players in the portal.

We saw what happen when they played real teams

I'm pretty sure that's more common than you think and the snap count isn't that high. Guys like Bain and Mesidor played like 800+ snaps.

For context, Damon Wilson had 23 tackles and 9 sacks on 509 snaps. So similar rates where tackle rate by snap count is around 4%. Not that crazy.

Need Leavitt at this point. Really need Biles too imo. The receiver is meh, but we need depth so I view him as a Tony Johnson type take to compete for reps.

Don’t know much about the OL. The Tenn DE seems a little Tyler Baron-esque as more of a situational rusher than an 3 down guy.

Really need a Damon Wilson type to complete the class
