Besides Moss, who else at EDGE/DE would you say is not developing? It's super early in the process to be talking about kids not developing. Don't get it wrong. I'm not trying to beat you up and in fact I like your posts. I just think it's a bit premature to talk about current EDGE guys not developing. You may be hinting at Kelly but I also think it's too early to jump to those conclusions just yet. Let's break it down.....

DE Nyjalik Kelly 6'5" 250 lbs Sophomore
DE Cyrus Moss. 6'5" 215 lbs. Redshirt Freshman
DE Jayden Wayne 6'6" 245 lbs Freshman
DE Reuben Bain 6'3" 275 lbs Freshman
DE Collins Acheampong 6'7" 270 lbs Freshman

Look for Kelly, Wayne and Bain to keep improving over the course of the season. Collins just got cleared to run and he has been blowing people away with his freakish size, wingspan and athleticism. D$ says not to expect anything this year but next year he should make his presence felt. I'm not giving up on Cyrus Moss. He is still just a redshirt Freshman and I expect him to make a few plays this year in certain packages as he continues to learn and adding more weight. Moss is about 215 lbs right now. If he can get to the 230-240 range by next season, I will be ecstatic! All in all I would look for a quantum leap forward collectively by this group of young DE/EDGE players in 2024.
It's okay to identify areas to improve in and it doesn't mean that you're giving up on anyone. The staff is continuing to recruit the position and through three games i'd say our lack of pass rush has been the biggest surprise to me.

But the more I breakdown who is on/coming on to the roster -- a stout, bigger body edge in the Trent Harris, Mesidor mold to develop behind Wayne is a bigger need. I thought that was Daylen Russel... but Miami may process guys out that are not developing their senior season + Miami is still looking for an impact edge guy makes me believe Daylen Russels spot is the one they are looking to upgrade at.

I’m sure our staff will be out at local games and maybe even fly out for a big targets game. Maybe @DMoney knows where our coaches are going with an off Saturday.
Gaby posted this morning that they were all asked NOT to share locations of visits by the staff. They want to keep some under the radar. He made it sound like it wasn't just visits in Florida - some staff heading OOS....

No doubt. I get where you are coming from

I agree. I always like to keep an open mind in terms of the young kids developing and not jump to conclusions but I have also been quite taken back by our lack of pass rush.

lol Mario just finna show up at people's houses.....

Unsure how many people were still watching in the 4th quarter but they started talking about Orlando Franklins recruitment to the U. He said Mario was still only dating his now wife Jessica. Had a whole date night planned out, he was cooking italian food, getting his house ready, slipped off the loafers, when Orlando calls him and says "Coach, I think I am going to go to UF" Mario told him to hold on and he would call him right back so they could discuss it all. Orlando said he never called back and instead he called Jessica and told her he had to cancel, got in his car, drove an hour and a half to Orlando's house and knocked on his door unannounced. They kept talking until roughly 1am. Orlando said that showed him a lot, he doesnt regret a thing, the U was the best four years of his life and he would not be who he is today without Mario.

If the Gators season implodes like it looks like it will...

We should definitely put the full court pre$$ on Xavier Filsaime.

Having that kind of Speed on Defense is invaluable.
Only if we make him play CB.

Mario Cristobal also has a busy day planned after leading his program to a 48-7 win over Bethune-Cookman on Thursday night.

The Hurricanes head coach is beginning the day with stops at Palm Beach Benjamin, Palm Beach Central, West Palm Beach Cardinal Newman, Coconut Creek Monarch, Miami Northwestern, Miami Edison, Miami Columbus, and Miami Palmetto before taking in a marquee matchup on Friday night
