The Canes have hosted some of the best players in the country this spring, and they are gaining ground with many of them.
- QB Israel Abrams (Chicago, IL) came on the Canes' radar later in the process, but once he did he flew to the top of the board. His visit was a home run, and the staff moved quickly to secure his commitment despite continued interest from Davin Davidson, Will Mencl and Peter Bourque.
- 2028 QB Knox Annis (Jacksonville) committed to the Canes this afternoon and it's a real commit. They had him at a camp and Shannon Dawson loved his game. Annis goes to the same high school as elite 2028 WR Brysen Wright and the alma mater of Carson Beck. Coach Denny Thompson (Beck's close friend and QB Coach) also works with Annis and raves about him. The Canes will continue to monitor 2028 QBs like Neimann Lawrence (American Heritage) .
- New RB Coach Favian Upshaw has hit the ground running as a recruiter. The Canes are in the driver's seat for physical freak Myson Johnson-Cook (East St. Louis), but they also have a great shot at Ty Keys (Picayune, MS). Keys was all smiles when I interviewed him today, and he told me was up to 92 MPH on the mound as a RHP/OF.
- I expect the WR class to be quality over quality. Tre Moore (Austin, TX) was on campus today and looked the part. He visited with his parents and retains significant interest. Jaden Upshaw (Albany, GA) is trending towards Texas A&M.
- Miami gained a ton of ground with TE Jaxon Dollar (Charlotte, NC) during his visit. They also really like Anthony Cartwright (Detroit, MI) as an all-around TE. The hope is to pair one of them with commit Demarcus DeRoche (Cardinal Gibbons).
- Offensive line, like receiver, will be quality over quantity. Sean Tatum (Fort Pierce, FL) has been a high-priority for a long time and I expect him to be pick the Canes. Mark Matthews (St. Thomas Aquinas) remains the key player in this class. Miami is recruiting other elite tackles, but I'd project Matthews to fill that spot. Jatori Williams (Phenix City, AL) is also a major target on the interior.
- One interior DL name to monitor- Marquis Evans (Birmingham, AL). He is a multisport athlete (basketball) who Miami loves.

- CB Nash Johnson (Alabama) decommitted from Alabama shortly after his Miami visit. The Canes are the favorites.
