Team status update

We know that the FSU game has been moved to October 7th and Georgia Tech to October 14th.

As I reported last week, the school sent a group of about 30 players up to Orlando to stay for the storm. They are still up there and the players have been told that they will not go back to Miami until campus is cleared for classes to resume. Right now, school admin is saying campus will open next Monday at the earliest with a chance that it takes even longer than that.

The football admin and coaches have a plan in place right now to get the remainder of the team to Orlando in case they need to practice up there for Toledo week.

We had family, gator alum, go to Orlando for the storm. Loss power. More family, gator alum, ran to Atlanta. Loss power. We stayed put in South Florida for the storm like any good Ibis. Lights never even blinked. Hope the kids in Orlando are practicing.

They've done this a few times over the years. It's ludicrous every time.

The whole point of a sports team's name is to represent strength, to suggest your team is as badass as whatever it's named after.

There were lion, tiger, and bear attacks last year -- let's rename all NFL teams! The Texas Tuxedos! The Minnesota Meerkats! The Detroit Downtrodden!

No it's not, the stadium is ready to be played in also other teams are playing in the state this weekend too. If our players were all in 1 area like uf had their players then the fsu game possibly would have been played this week too. However It is better to be safe than sorry as far as our players evacuating from south Florida. Glad everyone seems to be okay

Real meteorologists saved a lot of peoples lives last weekend. Forecasting hurricanes is amazingly hard to do and each year they get better at it. Three full days out they were off of landfall by about 100 nautical miles give or take. They got people to evacuate and listen for the most part. Do you have any idea of how bad things would have been in the keys if people didn't leave?? Furthermore, this storm was amazingly strong and if it didn't interact with cuba you would be looking at different headlines.

As far as FPL. Look, sorry you might not have power or whatever but its coming back online quickly. They had line workers ready to go in numbers never seen before. Just so you understand though. They need to clean streets in neighborhoods before they can even get in their to identify and fix the lines. I get that it sounds cool to to just make blanket statements like that but its not well thought out.

In storms like this it can take more than a month to restore power. Its just logistically impossible.

Im tipping my hat to the guys and girls at the NHC. I know for a fact that they were literally locked into their office and worked in rotating shifts to save your ***. Separated from their own families and getting little sleep.

I work with Dj Dallas Uncle in Tampa. He told me that the guys that are in Orlando have been practicing while they have been up there. Didn't give specifics on what exactly they were doing at the hotel. But I figured I would pass this along to the people who were wondering if they were just sitting around while in Orlando.

Whereas I mentioned a possible return to practice on either Thursday or Friday, yet the powers that be are still UNCERTAIN about the entire campus and when students, faculty, coaches and athletes will return. Yikes.

The bottom line: keep on saying I'm a troll. Because I'll take the word of Jimbo Fischer over ANY Cane fan, anytime under the South Florida sun.

Oh, and one more thing. I absolutely respect Coach Fischer and believe he's a **** good head coach. LOL A mighty **** good head coach.
