FSU went and got an OC who has produced multiple Top 10 offenses in his career.

Tennessee is looking into a guy who just coached Matt Ryan and Julio Jones to their best statistical seasons.

USC just got a guy who is a proven HC and has produced multiple top offenses personally.

And you guys are said you're OK with Miami hiring a guy from Toledo who nobody wants? Not EVERY coach needs to be the next "up and comer". It's The University of Miami. Are we not allowed to hire established coaches who have at least had some prior history of success at at least a halfway decent program?

If Applebag is such a good QB guy and connected in Texas how’d he let Charlie Brewer wind up at Rape U? His QB situation looked like a disaster in the bowl game.

MUCH more money and quicker career arc for Briles.

That one isn't on Applewhite at all. Not having a decent backup behind King is, however. But Briles was gone and nobody was gonna keep him at Houston once FSU came calling. Obviously a much better job with a much bigger paycheck.

No, a proper retort would be "doesn't it take two hands to play a flute? In your case I'd blow it like a whistle".

Well I dont play flute(no hands, one hand, two hands) so .....Not that there is anything wrong with that

Agree - we should be backing the Brinks truck up for the best in the business. We can't be paying Manny what Richt was making - use it and don't be cheap!
Whoever is the prospect, there is the prerequisite that they have to like fast and violent, and know how to implement same.......The O must resemble the D...

why do you insist on having a ST coach only? no school besides FSU had one. Either the LBs coach or some other assistant is in charge of it.

Did you see our st’s last year?! I would have a coach dedicated just for specials.

Offense will likely be collaborative just like Manny ran the defense. Many’s guys always had a say and he relied heavily on them for game-planning; I expect he’ll encourage the same for the offensive staff. Best thing to do is try to hire Coley and/or Dorsey as well. Applewhite seems infinitely more collaborative than Fedora and Manny has enough innovation and savagery to go around for everybody. Don’t get caught up think our offense will look like anyone else’s. []__[]good.

I think Diaz knows what he wants across the board for each slot on staff. OC whoever is selection will be executing to Diaz framework
of fast, aggressive & violent. new OC will carry out Diaz grand scheme in detail......
Just like Doritos carried out Applebag’s plan right?

You guys crack me up thinking a defensive minded HC in his first season has all the answers if his OC isn’t very good. Diaz is hiring an OC he thinks will be able to do what he wants just like Applebag did when he hired Doritos and every other HC (failed and successful) has done.

Coaches don’t want to waste a spot on st’s, most kickoffs go in the end zone now and there’s never any returns. So other than fg’s and punts they’ve been eliminated. It’s no viewed as a third of the game.

They want guys who coach a position group to take that on. Or a head coach like urban.

But we can waste space hiring a safeties and CBs coach? **** makes no sense people are getting so triggered over the fact that someone mentions a dedicated ST coach.

Good news! They can be coached up and schemed properly. Take a look at what Freddie Kitchen's playcalling after taking over for OC Todd Haley did for the Brown's formerly horrible offensive line.

The Browns allowed 70 total hits on its QBs this season. Of those 70, 61 of them occurred while Todd Hale was OC, and ONLY 9 with Kitchens as interim OC. Kitchens did this on purpose. His play calls got the ball out quick and accentuated the strengths of the otherwise poor o-line play. The o-line got better and better each game. He literally saved our two OTs careers, especially the LT.
Sign of a good coach

FSU "did" have one... got rid of Alonzo Hampton just today!

Now that it seems our OC situation is resolved, this should be repeated for emphasis.

Please no HS coaches as part of the on-field staff. Our recruiting was just as broken as our offense was under Richt. We absolutely must knock these offensive position coach hires out of the park.

Make Seider an offer he can't refuse. Land your top choices and stack this staff with guys who will help secure premier talent across the board.

Seider isn’t coming

What does that have to do with Applebag not getting Charlie Brewer, who was an underrated Texas QB, who went to Baylor and looks like a future star?
