Spring Practice 4/10 - Early Portion Notes

**As expected, nothing has changed in terms of the QB rotation since the scrimmage on Saturday. It's still (1) Malik Rosier, (2) N'Kosi Perry, and (3) Jarren Williams. Cade Weldon remains out with what the team is terming an eye infection.

**Routes today: post up the middle of the field, out route to the sidelines, and bubble screens.

**The story of the day was the offensive line. Stacy Searels was not happy with his unit giving up tons of sacks during the Saturday scrimmage, and as a result spent the morning mixing and matching to try and find the right combination.

From left to right, the first team to open was: (LT) St. Louis (LG) Jones (C) Gauthier (RG) Mahoney (RT) Donaldson

Second team to start was: (LT) Brown (LG) Scaife (C) Gaynor (RG) Campbell (RT) Hillery

**Like mentioned, there was heavy rotation with the first team to see which lineup can really gel. Brown was getting reps at first team RT with Donaldson at RG and Mahoney out. In another look, Mahoney and Scaife were sharing reps at first team center, with Gauthier at RG. It appears to be a work in progress to see which unit can come together and perform for Searels.

**On defense, BJ Jennings was rotating in and getting some first team burn today at MLB.

**Ed Reed was out observing practice today. One security guard actually questioned him because he wasn't wearing a credential, so you know we've got top notch security out here at Greentree.

**In a change of team policy, there will be no players made available to the media this week, only coaches. Players will be available to talk after the spring game however.

lol is this why his interview was pulled recently? I never heard why, but I did get the pull notice when I tried to watch the interview.

Donaldson wanted to be an OT coming out of high school. If he's holding his weight down, he has the agility to be a wall there, which would be a great development. I hope Boulware can step in and bring interior strength. We have to be able to find five out of all the talented kids we have on roster now (with more coming in a couple months).

Good for Jennings. I was a doubter. Hope he makes me look foolish.

3-4 losses? Lol. Idiotic comment. This offense is loaded with ridiculous talent and needs an “average” oline.

Tell me who u see the losses to and who has better talent.

We almost lost 4 games last year with a better O-line. While I personally don't think we'll lose 4 games it wouldn't shock me if we did.

Well, if QB play doesn't improve we can lose 3-4 games easily. A loaded O means nothing if your QB can't get the ball to that talent.

He has no idea. Dude is just a miserable person. Even when we were undefeated last year he was crying and complaining.

I fully expect Boulware to start, and I think Scaife will be ready by the Fall. Are people really going to say this OL will be terrible?

We won 11 games (yes I'm including the Arky St cupcake, if you focus on losses, then I can look at wins) with Rosier last year.

I still doubt he starts, but why can't we win 11 this year, epsecially with more talent around him?

He was being asked about speed at the WR position...said guys are fast...plenty of speed, but JT and Harley had crackhead speed.

If he starts, I believe the reason would be because teams know now they can take their chances by shutting down our run game and forcing him to beat them with his arm. It's why Pitt's coach was so darn ****y at halftime last year. Every team will try to do the same from this point on, if he's in there. It'll be that much more pressure on a guy with limited ability.

And I don't buy that where "loaded" on offense stuff. We have alot of potential but very few proven commodities on offense.

They lost 3 games last year a was very close to losing more. It definitely could happen with the issues at qb and o-line.
