If i had to guess id say yes. I'd say when it's all said and done it's between him and jarren. But the smart thing probably is if jarren doesnt win outright than redshirt jarren & have malik at backup
This has always been my stance on freshman QBs. If they don't win the job outright, redshirt them if possible. If Williams is far better than Rosier, and Perry goes down, there goes the shirt. If Perry stays healthy, let Williams redshirt.

I know yall are only allowed out for a few but im not sure whats being seen in that period. Malik for the last two practices has looked atrocious. Nkosi & jarren are consistently better at this point. Jarren in particular had a great day(nkosi had a great tuesday) other notes throughout the day are defense as a whole looked pitiful today ( hence the wall sits and up downs) nephew caught two more bombs & put amari on his ***. Speaking of amari he may have shown today how much he wants that job. One of the hardest cleanest hits ive ever seen today on Lo when he was running a draw. I was worried for lo for a minute. Thats one tough kid. Cant see any way amari doesnt start this year. Hes gotten more physically & mentally mature and hes making his reps count. Lets all say a quick prayer for gurvan. He got shook off the line by marshall few. Fell down holding his knee screaming & didnt come back. Has mri tomorrow. Hopefully it was just a tweek. Also same way staff has been raving about rouseau theyre doing the same about dj ivey. As plenty on here that follow football have stated that kid is the real deal. It was a blessing for us that he had the injury junior year otherwise he wouldve got alot more attention. Cant wait to watch him develope & hes a great kid too. Deserves everything coming his way.
I doubt Amari will be a "starter". But I absolutely think he will essentially be getting about starter type snaps at safety. Obviously Jaquan will rarely be coming off the field. But Redwine and Amari will rotate. I just think Redwine is going to keep the starter label. I'd bet about 800+ snaps for Jaquan again. and maybe like 500snaps for Redwine and 400 snaps for Amari. Gurvan Hall, if healthy which lets hope he is, probably around 100-150 snaps.

Its kind of a similar situation to Demetrius Jackson at DE (and DT in pass rush). Personally I think Joe Jackson and Jon Garvin will be our two starting DEs at SDE and WDE respectively with Demetrius backing up Joe, and Rousseau backing up Garvin. But as far as snaps are concerned I expect Demetrius to get a **** load - maybe even equal to Garvin tbh. I think Joe Jackson will get around 700 snaps this yr (he had 580 last yr). Garvin and Demetrius will get around 500 each.. And Rousseau will get around 200. And Patchan will get maybe close to 200 too.

With the new rules in shirts I would love to see him thrown out there on a couple of early cream puffs after LSU. Obviously we would have to be blowing them out. Get some game reps before they shirt him.

Hope gurvan is okay, sounds like Jarren Williams is the real deal. Was very impressed with his tape when we got him. Sometimes you can just see the talent jump off the ***** and it does with him.... god I hope Malik keeps showing who he is(not good) and Perry keeps getting better. I know That’s horrible to say but it’s best for us if it plays out that way. Malik can’t lead us

How does this make any sense? Why would you want Perry to face less competition to win the job? You want your starting QB that has never taken a snap to not be pushed . That is some wacky logic.

Some of you learned nothing from the QB debates of '17. Using practice reports once again to determine who is currently "leading".

Plain and simple malik shouldn’t be starting for Miami and he’s holding the offense back.

He has no awareness, no touch on his throws, plays lackadaisical, makes ridiculous decisions, no accuracy, and was beyond horrible his last 7 games of the season. We can’t afford for him to start

Plain and simple, Perry winning the job by default doesn't help him or the program. You can hope for Perry to win and talk about Rosier's weaknesses but what you said is dumb as ****. It isn't any different than saying I hope Redwine plays bad so Carter can take his spot. How does that make the team better if the younger guy gets a job simply because the older player performs terribly? I'm sure all successful programs thrive on older players playing like garbage and paving the way for younger fan favorites. Let say Perry wins the job because Rosier is terrible in practice. What would we know about Perry other than he's better than the guy who practices terribly? I don't know if wanting that is idiocy or lunacy, it might be both.

How about Perry or whoever wins the job because they were clearly better but had to fight to get it.

What I wanted to hear! Up there with Deejay as one of my favorite, recent commits.

Smith is going to turn out to be the unheralded star of the ‘17 class.
You could call my the President of the Derrick Smith fan club. I've been on the Smith wagon since day one! Kid is going to be a player.

Bullcrap. Ken Dorsey won the job when Kenny Kelly left the program, for crying out loud. Who was his competition going into 2000? Perry will be pushed by Williams anyway. Rosier should be a non factor from this day forward.

I am NOT on the "Trash MI2" team.

I actually think he will be a great help to the team this season and will make all of you eat crow.

I am probably alone in thinking that.

I just think we are throwing that young man under the bus far too quick. Yes, he grew up wanting for nothing so mayne he needs a stiffer kick in the rear. Let these coaches try to mold that clay.

Im happy to see the TEs as a whole are improving.

Look; MI2 has all the tools to be another great TE here. He’s gifted. But gifted and wanting to put ur gifts in to motion are two totally different things. He seems like AfroMan every interview (and if u don’t know who AfroMan is, just YouTube AfroMan’s greatest hit and you’ll see y I made that statement).

I need him to step up, like now.

Troy Prasek, Derrick Crudup, Ethenic Sands(?), TJ Prunty I think were the other QBs on the roster at the time, lol. Yeah, not exactly like that picture where Richt is a player at the U with all that talent surrounding him
