I didn't see Graham being anywhere as good as he is and I'll be the first to admit that.

Don't think anyone did really. Graham's college stats are meh for the 1 year he played football. I remember his performance during that beatdown against Va Tech in Blacksburg back in 2009.

I did. I predicted he'd be our next future NFL star based on his incredible athleticism, size and hunger to be great.

He's not a first round pick for sure.

He's likely in the 20-40 range. His combine performance will determine where he goes.

With 32 teams picking, using your 20-40, that puts him in the first round last 12 picks.

As I have stated before. We don't need him. We are in a really good spot at tight end. So I am all for him going to make that money and rep the U in the NFL. Henderson and Irvin will be just as good.

I wish the young brotha much success and I truly enjoyed his time at the U. I need the Dolphins to draft Fournette and Njoku..lol

Did you mean Herndon? If yes, I'm hoping coach Richt continues to use the tight end in the same way next season. I don't recall his offense really using a tight end to open up the field like he did this year....I was thinking that was because Njoku was so talented that he couldn't help but use him.

Crossing my fingers that Irvin makes a big jump and becomes a budding star next season. I'm sure he has the DNA for it but he needs to put in the work in the offseason to make sure it happens. We could sure use a guy like Njoku at tight end on a consistent basis.

Njoku is the best receiving prospect in this draft period (WR or TE). The sooner he declares the sooner he can start his adjustment to the NFL and work towards that big 2nd contract. He's Ladarius Green+++ imo.

Looking through this thread it's amazing how quickly people forget Jimmy Graham had 17 catches for 213 yards and was a 3rd round pick. Njoku has much better film and production and might post better combine numbers too.

I'd love to see the Bucs draft him in the 2nd round, and that would be a great outcome for the kid financially, but feel free to disagree.

LOL at goofballs comparing him to Bucky Hodges. Look at their body types for christ's sake. Hodges looks like a tall WR. Jake ******** caught more passes? So what. He's another slow scrawny looking dude.

Njokeman is a matchup nightmare down the seams with his speed and explosive athletic ability. You realize how explosive he is athletically to be a competitive high jumper? This dude has only scratched the surface of what's to come.

Although this should not be a surprise to Miami Hurricanes fans, sources tell CanesInSight.com tonight that redshirt sophomore David Njoku is leaning towards declaring for the NFL draft.

Njoku, who had two receptions for 134 yards and two touchdowns against Duke on Saturday night, cracked a smile when asked after the game if he had put any thought into leaving, but did not commit to leaving or staying.

"We’re just focused on the bowl game right now and then I’m sure I’ll figure it out afterwards -- we’ll see," Njoku said.

Njoku has had a superb season for the Hurricanes, tallying 38 receptions for 654 yards and 7 touchdowns. He has career numbers of 59 catches, 1,016 yards, and 8 touchdowns. Scouts are intrigued by his combination of size (6-5, 245) and speed. The product of Cedar Grove High School in New Jersey doubles as a high jumper for Miami's track team.

Sources told CanesInSight that he has had his eye on the next level all season, and that his strong finish of 6 touchdowns over the last 5 games has all but sealed the deal. Mark Richt said tonight that he will sit down with draft-eligible Hurricanes players in the coming days to discuss their future.

Either way his brother should see it as win situation . Brother got drafted early why can't I .

Herndon is a jag compared to No Joke U. Make no mistake, his departure will leave a huge hole in the offense.

You only get one chance to enter the NFL draft, better hope you get the most $ out of it you can, they don't give a fuc in the NFL..
Tough decisions are being made

Njoku is better than all of those guys and he has barely scratched the surface.

He's not, those guys actually have film to back up their physical attributes. Bucky Hodges is similar to Njoku, only he has caught almost double the passes in his career. Jake Butt is a complete tight end, he can play both inline and split. Did I mention that both of those two players can block, something Njoku can't do? I think David is the kind of player that a GM falls in love with, based on how he looks, and his combine, but the kind of team you want to play for will look at his film and ask some pointed questions. How can a guy this athletic, this talented be a nonfactor for most of his career?

Njoku was more productive than all of them this year but I guess he doesn't have "film" to back up his atrributes. Please shut up.

You realize that GMs and people whose careers are on the line aren't going to just look at ONE season of work, right? They are going to look at the fact that Butt, despite being dinged for a lot of the season has caught more than 50 passes in a season beat tfore at the college level. Njoku hasn't, and most likely won't. Hodges has caught more passes in his career than Njoku, despite not being as physically gifted. People are also going to look at the film and wonder why Njoku drops balls like AT&T drops calls. Again, the young man has the physical talent, and he will look mighty impressive in shorts at the combine, but that doesn't change the fact that his film doesn't line up with what he is physically. Njoku should be putting up numbers, but he isn't. You combine that with things like not being a legit blocker, and being a little one dimensional in regards to routes, and you have a guy that is a question mark. Well run franchises don't spend first round money on tight ends with question marks. Maybe the Raiders would have, but Al Davis is dead. Look at Clive Walford, a guy that was way more complete than David, and was athletic in his own right, albeit not the genetic freak Njoku is. Where did he go in the draft?

Njoku is way more fluid than Walford, 3 x times faster. Just stop it you wrote a **** mini novel to try and justify who would take him. You're not a scout just another no name porster who wrote a book to rationalize that bs you are speaking of.

njoku is gone and he should go. does he have to work on catching skills? yes, but he should do so while being paid rather than while at the U. take the money and run.

kaaya is probably gone to and he should go too. take the money and run.

You were one of the few then. I thought he'd have a decent career. Didn't think he'd be playing at the level that he is. Glad he's having the career that he's having.

There is zero chance Kaaya leaves early.

If he does and is drafted in the first four rounds then I'll strap on a helmet for try-outs during training camp and would like my chances of making it.

Wishing the best for David as he has put in the effort to become one of college football's best scoring tight ends...As history repeats itself in the NFL Draft there are far to many other TE's coming out to assume David, or the others, would go in the 1st round...Next year if he showed as well as he did during the last 5/6 games I don't see how he would not be a 1st round choice and move up to really making the money....

Understand financial needs, but NJoku is just a good TE with big potential at this point. He's not a polished route runner, stiff, average hands, unwilling blocker and he lacks physicality at this point. He'll be better served financially by staying another year, refining his craft (TE).

Not a big surprise. I'm happy for the kid and just hope he can catch the ball well at the combine.

He as all the tools to be a beast in the league, and he'll probably have a great combine. That said, it'll be interesting to see if he can leap Howard and/or Engram to get to the top of the board.

HOWARD?..the bum from bama..hes better than him already...howard has twigsn for legs and I believe njoku even blocks better than him.

theres others like the guy from Michigan or I think wisky or Louisville that's pretty good

Is he a better prospect than Warlord? I don't think so, and he went in he third.
