“You never play the University of Miami if it’s the first game of a new stadium”.

“You never play the University of Miami if you’re honoring something”.

“You never play the University of Miami if that game or that moment is supposed to be important to somebody”.

Why? Because we’re gonna steal your shine”.

@k9cane can attest this use to give our old teams even more excited to give teams a beat down. Penn State white out I forget what year it was. But we crushed them!!!

I watched the Clemson game.

-First off, the backup QB for Clemson starts and goes for 317 yards and 3 TDs. SMU is dead last in the country in giving up 10+ yard passing plays and it's not even really close.
-Clemson cannot run the ball but I get the feeling we'll have similar struggles. This has the potential to be like Louisville in that if Beck struggles I don't think there's anything else they can turn to. It's really important that Miami doesn't go down early.
-The Lashlee offense looks exactly like it did under Miami. Feast or famine and a lot of quick drives that go nowhere. I haven't watched the Wake game but the drive chart is pretty incredible to look at. Their longest drive was a little under 3:00 minutes and they had 17 possessions.

I haven't watched a ton of Clemson but their offensive performance reminded me a lot of Miami's performance against Louisville. Everything on offense seemed like such a struggle.

Miami has a chance to prove that those 7 quarters midseason were an aberration or prove this is just who they are. This is a game Miami needs to dominate for themselves and for public perception. Based on what I've seen so far I think Miami is about to play another close game. SMU is Louisville lite. I hope they prove me wrong.
Well if that's the case then we win in a squeaker. We had no business being in that game lite and still found ourselves driving with a chance to win.

Homecoming Night isn’t happening. Can’t imagine Ponies are thrilled with an 11am homecoming kickoff.
And hopefully Mario uses it to claim they are scheduling a weak opponent for their homecoming

You’re thinking of 2001 but it wasn’t a white out. That wasn’t a thing until a few year later. The big thing was Adam Taliafero leading the team out of the tunnel for them. He was paralyzed the season prior. Also they had just had an addition to the stadium.

Yep. I was there. Great game and probably the loudest I’ve ever heard a stadium outside of some OB classics and the ND game at Hard Rock.

Yes you have a better memory then me!! Thank you!

I suspect they tryin' to induce a brain seizure in us. Don't fall for it boys!!!!!

Good stuff. Said this yesterday but this game might be a Mario wet dream. Like you said, Lashlee plays fast, we know this. But they're not great on offense, so we're going to have more possessions in this game than usual. Their defense has faced 72+ plays for the last 5 consecutive games. We're obviously going to do what we do, and be as physical as possible in the run game. I wonder if you see some of what happened to Stanford and UiF in the 2nd half where they just submit and we start running through arm tackles and opening big holes and run them out of the building.

Miami is not the type of team you want to see on the schedule if you're a defense and you know your offense is going to put you in a position where you have to defend close to 80 plays. Especially not this being your 5th Saturday in a row playing football.

I know this isn't exactly playing into their weakness, as you mentioned they've given up NINETY pass plays of 10+ yards this year. For comparison, Miami has given up 46. Dead last in America, as you said. But I think this is going to be another game where of course we'll throw, hopefully we can hit some explosives, but we're obviously going to lean on them as well in the run game, and I'm interested to see how that looks in the 2nd half.
Not to mention that Jennings got injured I believe in week 1 or 2 with a bum ankle. He’s playing through it but he’s no where near the dual threat he was last year. The stats bear it out and when I’ve seen him play and he does run, he’s missing that explosiveness from last year.

Am I correct in this assessment @JustAFanHTX ?

He’s only rushed for 33 yards vs 354 last year.
