Miami freshman guard Shelton Henderson spent the offseason getting stronger, adding weight to his frame before his first year of college basketball.

Based on information I've received from multiple sources, he is now listed at 240 pounds for this offseason. He added 15 pounds this offseason, according to sources.

Henderson has looked solid in offseason and summer practices for the Hurricanes, and after adding 15 pounds, he could be in line for a starting role.

As a senior, Henderson was named the All-Greater Houston Player of the Year and won the Guy V. Lewis Award after averaging 22.3 points, 7.5 rebounds, four assists, and three steals per game. He shot 69 percent from the field and led the Cardinals to the UIL Class 6A Division I state championship game.

He also won a gold medal with USA Basketball at the FIBA U18 AmeriCup, averaging 8.0 points and 4.5 rebounds in six games.

On the 2024 EYBL spring circuit, Henderson put up 14.8 points and 6.3 rebounds per game, then averaged 14.7 points and 4.6 rebounds at the Nike Peach Jam.
