Former Miami Hurricanes superstar Rueben Bain has been receiving high praise from many media outlets throughout the country. Now, the betting sites are chiming in on the Buccaneers edge rusher.
FanDuel Sportsbook released its odds on the Defensive Rookie of the Year Award, naming Rueben Bain as the favorite with +470 odds. However, New York Jets defensive end David Bailey (+500) and Dallas Cowboys safety Caleb Downs (+700) are not far behind.
Bain was selected by the Buccaneers as the No. 15 overall pick in the 2026 NFL Draft. He is expected to take on a big role this season and step up as a rookie off the edge as he has the intangibles and techniques to win the award to add to his long list of trophies that he has accomplished during his football career.
Bain has already displayed his elite pass-rushing skills and moves during the Buccaneers training camp, receiving high praise from 11-year NFL veteran Rakeem Nuñez-Roches.
This past season, Cleveland Browns linebacker Carson Schwesinger won the award after recording a total of 156 tackles. Former Hurricanes' linebacker Jonathan Vilma received the award in 2004 when he was representing the New York Jets.
