They can’t do anything unless someone checks the protection...they’re taught to look at their assignment until their assignment changes.

Nahhhh buddy, you made that $h!t up.

I've never heard of a system where the QB had to make all the calls. It's pretty standard that the Center makes the line calls:

When the Packers are going no-huddle, Rodgers makes the play calls and formation calls at the line of scrimmage. It's at that time that the symphony truly begins, starting with the big horns, or in this case, the big guys up front.

The interior three of the Green Bay line is so important to what they do pre-snap. Center Corey Linsley started 16 games as a rookie last season, all the while making line calls in one of the most complicated pre-snap offenses in the league. His first start came on the road at Seattle, the toughest place for an offense to communicate.

"There's a lot going on with what we do," Linsley said. "It's really complex."

When Linsley scans the defense after Rodgers makes the play call, he will makes his line calls to identity the blitzers, set protections and decide which way and how the line will block. If you watch closely, even without the sound, you can see him pointing and communicating with the rest of the line along with Rodgers.

Linsley, although inexperienced, makes the first call. Then guards Josh Sitton and T.J. Lang, veterans who Rodgers said have "high football IQS," will then counter or offer suggestions about what they like. All the while they are barking out some dummy calls. Words that matter, and some that don't.

One loss does not define a season with 11 games still to be played, and Rosier is playing a role in keeping the team’s spirits up as they head for a Coastal Division title.

“I talked to the team and told them that we still have a whole ACC Championship to play for,” Rosier said.
***** it’s 4 losses in a Row because of your *****@ssness!!!! If not for the turnovers by our D, last year would’ve been a disaster! Fock him!!! Neeeeext!!!!!!!

how delusional is all of that from top to bottom

the team hates you rosier, do the entire state of florida a favor and request to be benched

Coach [Thomas] Brown said it perfect, ‘If there was no one in the stadium and we were going against our scouts, every blitz that they brought, we should have picked up everything they did.’

NO! People who never played interior line or coached picking up blitzes might bite on that. But look at our guard's heads, hands, and body positions while people were running right smack by them. **** LSU had so much success, they just kept doing it more and more the 2nd half.

No hand checks to help, not even a slight turn of the head to see if inside help was needed it; instead our gurads had blinders on looking for someone on a loop stunt coming to their gap that seldom did. Too many blown assignments and unabated entry into the backfield for this not to be a unit wide issue.

Notice the difference when our D looped and LSU's interior O-linemen immediately ingaged ir went to the 2nd and 3rd levels creating a hole big enough for a 58-foot Hatteras to go through? You have to see the game and have spatial awareness as an O-lineman also.

And, Oh by the way! Miami's "scouts" aren't LSU's starting front 7 - who were recruited to survive in the SEC at positions LSU became known for, way back when Saban was still corching there. That worried me when I first saw them on the schedule.

I wouldn’t call it blown assignments because somebody has to check the protection(center or QB...whoever it is) and adjust accordingly but that exactly it. How do you expect them to consistently create a seal? And even when they did the fuggin QB sacked himself.

Keep reading **** face...you missed a lot.

If it was already the center’s job then they wouldn’t have made the change yesterday. Nice try though

PS: you can tell if the centers are making the calls because they keep their head until the last few seconds.

Everyone is and the sad part is that he’s not even the best QB on roster. CMR is playing him because he wants too.
Oh I know, everyone who follows Hurricane football knows there's 3 other QB's on this roster that are more capable than Malik Rosier. Why Richt continues to start him is beyond me. The only 2 reasons I can come up with is:
1) Malik is the easy scapegoat for when things fall apart.
2) Richt doesn't have the guts to be the bad guy and bench the Senior at QB.

One problem with what he said. There were a lot of things he did wrong that he can’t do right. He needs to stop pretending he has the ability, he just needs to limit mistakes. No. He just isn’t good enough.

Pretty sure people in Gainesville and Tallahassee want him to keep playing.

Got lucky against a $hitty schedule?? LMAO. Our schedule was ALOT harder last year.

So WTF do you call this years schedule???? We play ONE ranked team as its stands now. ONE. And you got folks on here saying we will barely win 9 games. Smh.
Maybe because with a few bad bounces we lose 3 more games last year. We were a lucky 10 win team. Every team on our schedule has Miami circled in their calendar, and they all are going to make Rosier beat them. **** yeah we might be a 9 win team this year.

They were small things that we missed that we never miss. Coach [Thomas] Brown said it perfect, ‘If there was no one in the stadium and we were going against our scouts, every blitz that they brought, we should have picked up everything they did.’

looking like a decent QB against your scout team of walk ons is a given at every school so what's the point of this soft *** comment??

Richt is no Saban, when it comes to what’s good for winning.

He does not exist, and we must have the worst Qb evaluators and developers in college football, guys is horrible. If one of the backups can’t throw for more 50% I just don’t get it! We have way too much talent to waste

This is exactly what I've been telling D$ for some time now. There is a big problem with how we practice. The tempo and focus might be great. But, the scenarios simply have not carried over for 3 years now. See one thing in practice and unprepared for what you see in real game. That's on both players and coaches.

You got some of the best talent at RB. You recruited a big time fullback.

Yet you run an offense that doesn't take advantage of that. It would be one thing if you had a QB that could pull it off.

You're asking a QB that is Ronnie Milsap. To carry your offense when your RB are avg 4.3 yards.

If you're going to use Roser. He should only throw when needed.

Look Bro, all I'm saying is if Gauthier was the best at making line calls like Rosier said He was, then there's absolutely no reason Gauthier shouldn't be able to do what's pretty standard for Centers to do, make line calls.

When I go to sleep at night, and dream of being a QB against bama in my mind, I win all the games too. I have never played football. I have two broken shoulders and can’t run for the life of me. But there, I am perfect.

Not a fan of the way they use Thomas.

When you have the fastest guy on the field, He shouldn't have to run 50 yds. across the field and break Olympic high jump records just to make a 10 yd. catch.

That kid probably ran a 5K just to have 132 yds. receiving.

In the hurry up, because Gauthier head is down waiting for the snap signal from the QB, the guards make the protection calls, the change that was made is likely what we saw during Golden days where the guard looks back and taps the Center to let him know when the QB is ready so the Center can keep his head up and make the calls.

Running crossing routes is an excellent way to use fast short WRs, when he gets the ball and the adjustment he was to make to catch the ball is on the QB and defense

Good point, didn't consider that part of it.
