Eason decommitted and then committed back to Georgia. You can give that one to Richt if you'd like. I made my database when Richt was hired and after Eason decommitted.

I remember people on here thinking Eason might follow Richt here. But we Had Allison at the time. Maybe I am misremembering

QB's recruited by Richt at Georgia:

Joe Tereshinski- 6-3, 205, 4 star average, made 5 career starts, out of GA.

Blake Barnes- 6-3, 218, 3.5 star average, made zero starts and transferred out. State of MS.

Joe Cox- 6-1, 192, 3.00 star average, made 14 career starts, and from state of NC.

Matthew Stafford- 6-3, 210, 5 star average, 34 career starts, All-SEC, #1 overall pick. From TX.

Logan Gray- 6-2, 190, 4 star average, made 0 career starts, from the state of MO.

Zach Mettenberger- 6-5, 229, 4 star average, made 0 career starts before being dismissed, out of state of GA.

Aaron Murray- 6-1, 198, 4.67 average stars, made 52 career starts, All-SEC, drafted. State of FL.

Hutson Mason- 6-2, 190, 3.00 average stars, made 15 career starts, out of GA.

Christian LeMay- 6-2, 200, 4 average stars, made 0 career starts, transferred out of program.

Faton Bauta- 6-2, 222, 3.00 average stars, made 1 career start, out of FL.

Brice Ramsey- 6-3, 205, 4 average stars, out of GA.

Jacob Park- 6-4, 210, 4 average stars, left program already, state of SC.

Richt has a reputation as a QB guru, but he's a bit hit-or-miss as a QB recruiter, and truthfully, the QB's he recruited who hit the biggest were 5-star players (Stafford and Murray). He hasn't really done well unearthing under-the-radar types at QB.

Ouch!

Eason never decommitted from Georgia. He did visit UF and Washington after Richt was fired but never officially decommitted...

Get me a local stud that the locals we have committed respect. Tell Sits cya later.

We've all seen that the "local respect" angle is largely overblown by many on this site.

No love for DJ Shockley and/or David Green (Richt may have inherited Green)

Also, no love for his work with QBs at Free Shoes?

Remember that post-2006, Richt didn't directly coach offense/QBs at UGA

Not saying there isn't merit to your post, but you can't ignore the other side of the discussion either.

Cannot argue with these facts.

HC gets the credit and the blame for signing players. This is especially true when the HC is a QB guy and we're talking about QBs.

Not so sure he was responsible for signing Shockley. I'm going on the list provided.

He was in his first recruiting class...he gets credit. He should also get credit for at least developing David Greene...he was a RS freshman when he came and turned him into a draft pick

Richt didn't recruit Green. I built my database for Richt's recruiting at Georgia when he was hired here, which is why I didn't update the number of starts that Ramsey had, because I didn't care what he did last year or this year. I suppose if it makes a difference here, I could update it to be current for the last few classes Richt had.

I could add Bailey Hockman and update that Faton Bausta transferred out. If you want to give credit for Jacob Eason, you can do that. If you count him as a success, it's simply affirmation that the truly successful QB's he recruited were 5-star kids and that he really hasn't recruited an under-the-radar kid successfully.

Keep in mind my agenda is not to praise or condemn Richt, it's merely to make sure the facts are present. Richt no doubt lands highly rated QB prospects.

It's the second highest rated position he recruited at Georgia:

RB- 4.00 stars on 19 commits
QB- 3.85 stars on 12 commits
DT- 3.80 stars on 14 commits (keep in mind I separated NT to account for fact he played 3-4 for several years)
OLB- 3.67 stars on 26 commits
DE- 3.61 stars on 35 commits
NT- 3.58 stars on 10 commits
ILB- 3.58 stars on 12 commits
CB- 3.56 stars on 28 commits
WR- 3.47 stars on 35 commits
SS- 3.38 stars on 9 commits
TE- 3.34 stars on 16 commits
OL- 3.33 stars on 55 commits
FS- 3.21 stars on 14 commits
FB- 2.88 stars on 8 commits

Eason decommitted and then committed back to Georgia. You can give that one to Richt if you'd like. I made my database when Richt was hired and after Eason decommitted.

Did Eason decommit because Rick was fired? Why wouldn't you give that to Rick?

Eason would have to be at UM to give credit to Rick. Rick tried to get Eason to come here after he left UGA.

I give him credit for the two years he spent recruiting him and telling him UGA was the place to go, Rick was here just basically a couple of months

Guru or not if he takes this kid he's wasting a scholarship cause this kid sucks....gotta believe he is looking elsewhere at this point cause surely his ego isn't so big to think he can turn this kid into anything other than a mediocre QB with great measurable.

What is the hardest position in football to evaluate correctly.
Someone please tell me who is the reall qb guru that has evaluated a lot of high schoolers correctly and has multiple QB's drafted with multiple successful career starts in the NFL.
I'll wait.
No one knows.
Eason is about to loose his job.
Trubiski sat for 3 years. Was he highly rated or recruited?
Look at buckshot at liberty.
Look at UF. They're still swinging and missing.
FSU has had 2 freshmen start in the last 2 years due to injury.
Aaron Rogers played one year at a community college.
So you get a kid with a good arm who just turned 17, has moved to anew state is under a ton of pressure, has horrible coaching, is learning a new offense; but he sucks?
Maybe Richt isn't looking for sits to start as freshmen. Maybe no college coach wants any qb to start as freshmen, but some people want every qb recruit to be a stud from day 1. Maybe we need a solid stable of qb's in case of injuries. Weldon may be a heisman winner in 2 years with sits and Perry on the pine. We don't know. If the pro scouts miss on qb's every year what are college coaches doing? Kaaya was predicted a first rounder during his first 2 years and he isn't even on a team. That stat of all those qb's recruited who never started can be attributed to any coach and probably even lord saban.

Ol is by far the hardest.

Qb normally hits at a pretty good rate. If you're a "real qb guru" you're going to make pretty much anyone look decent. Just look at Jumbo , **** near everyone he puts at qb looks pretty good. Even a 100 pound, 3 star true Fr performed well in his first start. Which is very rare. I think he's an overrated hc but his resume as a qb coach is very good.

Just giving the devil his due.

UF has struck because they've had either awful coaches or a defensive coach that dumbed his offenses down out of being conservative. Every qb that left UF has been successful. From Driskell, Brissett, Murphy and Grier. All of those guys looked like completely different guys after they got away that dumpster fire.

Hightower doesn't know the time of day when it comes to a QB's potential...The guy misses hightower a couple times, and hightower gets all bent out of shape. Richt forgot more about what makes up a good QB then Hightower knows. Hightower's opinion means nothing to me. If Hightower would drop a few Sitkowski passes would we give any precedence to Sitkowski saying I don't want to play with this kid?

What does any of this have to do with Hightower? You think because I say something it must come from B? Or because he looks hot on the field or snaps during a game that reflects one way or another on him? You're a simpleton whose opinion amounts to a brain fart. Keep my nephews name out your mouth. Everything he has ever said about ****kowski has been positive & supportive. He's had his back from the beginning & lord knows he doesn't deserve it. Thanks for giving your professional opinion though skeeter
