I dont know youd try to box a kid into a position when he hasn't practiced one day on your team yet. Most kids, ST26 being the only exception I've seen, that have the ball in their hands want to keep it that way. Let him know you want HIM!!! Hes a great athlete! You'll figure it out once hes on campus. And he looks like a baller a RB too. I hope they are right..

ST wanted to play Safety tho

Richards naturally is more talented the Peppers and our offense is way more wide open then Michigan so in that role he can no doubt succeed

Richards at corner and battle at saftey and if Stevenson comes corner also

Difference maker on offense. Don’t understand why we pigeon hole this kid into DB...

Just get him here and figure it out later

Why is the majority of his highlight tape defensive plays? Because he is a natural at DB with a fantastic skill set for either S or CB.

I do believe he has talent to be a successful college player on either side of the ball. But I see elite potential on D. Not sure I see as high of a ceiling on offense. And anyone assuming he’s a WR just bc of his brother needs to look closer.

His bro showed a full WR skill set in his HS tape bc that is how his talent manifested. Projection of MAR to WR is based mostly on physical attributes bc he doesn’t really play WR. Almost all of his receiving highlights are short passes out of the backfield.

It’s simple for me, I believe his value above replacement player is significantly higher on defense than on offense.

Having defenders with a playmaking offensive mindset once they get a hold of the ball takes a defense to a whole new level. That’s what MAR would bring to the table

Smith and Battle at safety with Stevenson, Richards Couch, and Brownlee at corner is ELITE. I didn't mention Good bc of the talks he wont be in this class.

Most of these kids don't realize that you put your best athletes on Defense. It's actually an honor to play D, especially at a high level. Just ask Jimmy Johnson, Butch, etc. All those Dogs were on D, just look em up from the 80's, 90's and 2000 teams.

And I'd counter with Winslow, McGahee, Andre Johnson just off the top of my head. You need big-time athletes on both sides of the ball.

I’ll take a stab at a class prediction:

QB: None, unless a big fish comes late a la Jarren
RB: Crowley, McIntosh
WR: Payton
TE: Keon Zipperer, Larry Hodges
OT: Evan Neal, Darnell Wright (I’ll bite)
OG: Tarquin
C: Eguakun

DE: Harvey, Cam Williams, JJ Weaver, Bogle
DT: Munoz, Holley, Ingraham, Tyler Davis(FSU down year wins out for us)
LB: Huff, Solomon, Brooks
CB: Nunn (initially), Brownlee, Couch
S: Smith, MAR

Hate that we’re trying to convince him to play defense. His heart seems to be on offense.

Hope it doesn’t cost us.
I believe MAR personally started leaning towards playing defense at the next level after the 5 star challenge. He looked average on offense and excelled on defense. I think it was an eye opener for everyone.

I don't disagree. You need studs on both sides of the ball. If not, we can't compete; but I agree with both Jimmy and Butch on having your best athletes on D if they play both sides of the ball.

Defensive players have a different mentality. They don't need to score points to show they made an impact on a game, unless they have a chance and then watch out! #TurnOverChain

The kid is enamored with having the ball in his hands and scoring; but watch his film and see his instincts to get to the Football and his ability to hit. We are NOT going to lose him because we want him on Defense; but just like we are doing with Patrick Joiner, we could always move him to WR or RB should the need arise due to attrition or injuries.

MAR will be a Cane and a great one by the time he graduates. I just hope that he commits sooner than later so that he can help us get TS and Nunn to commit and help us flip Battle from that school in OlowO, because Savages want to play with Savages and Iron Sharpens Iron!
