With offers from Power 5 schools such as Kansas State, Rutgers, Georgia Tech, and Louisville, 2020 Cartersville (GA) 3-star QB Tee Webb has flown a bit under the radar so far in the recruiting world. However, after a junior season in which he tossed a whopping 35 TD’s for Cartersville, Webb took his recruitment to the next level by earning an offer from new Miami Hurricanes’ OC Dan Enos last week.
“My offer came from coach Enos,” Webb said. “I was super pumped to get the offer from Miami, it really means a lot.”
Enos had actually been tracking Webb’s progress for nearly a year since he was at Alabama, and the offensive coordinator brings a built-in relationship with Webb to Miami.
“I’m a big fan of coach Enos and our relationship is great,” Webb said. “I went to Alabama last summer and he was there and we hit it off great. He’s awesome.”
Now that he has the offer, where do the Canes stand in Webb’s mind?
“Miami is high on my list,” Webb said. “Coach Enos has my interest, I like the area, and it’s a legendary football program.”
Of course, the next step in the process would be to take a visit to learn more about the UM program and campus, and Webb plans to do just that.
“I will definitely visit there between now and June,” Webb said of Miami. “I look forward to coming to visit Miami soon.”
With his recruitment ratcheting up so quickly, Webb says he is unsure of his visit plans the other programs right now, but will have more clarity by the end of the spring.
“I’m currently working on my visits list. I’ve had a lot of coaches come through and my recruitment has really picked up, which is awesome,” Webb said. “I should have a lot of coaches come through spring practice, so we may not narrow down all my visits until March or April. My parents and I are discussing it.”
In the meantime, Webb’s off-season goals include putting on more weight to shape his body and be ready for the grind at the next level.
“I’m at a little over 6’4” and 185 pounds currently, my goal weight by spring is 195,” Webb said. “I’m working out a lot and consuming calories right now.”
Most QB prospects like to have their decisions set in stone before their senior season to lock up their spot, and Webb appears to be no different.
“I would like to make a decision by summer or before,” Webb said. “I plan to graduate in December so that I can go to college in January.”
When it comes time to make a final choice, Webb says a big factor for him is simply a school that will give him a fair shake at the starting job.
“There’s a lot I’m looking at, but first off, I want to play - I love this game,” Webb said. “I’ll be looking for a place I can compete to start.”
