RECAP: Paradise Camp delivers yet again

Let’s have this conversation again in Dec if we have won 10-11 games and then let’s see. Washington is clearly not going to make a decision until Feb. He won’t be pressured by anyone including Bama.

Agree. He spoke to other reporters last night - I can't post the exact interview but the short of it was Miami is "TE U" and we are at the top for him - in his top5, top 3 to quote him. He really loved the interaction with the alumni -mentioned Njoku giving him some pointers that he didn't know. I think the kid is smart and will evaluate the whole picture. Two things we have to overcome is the winning part and the $$- need a really good season and as everyone has said, Brevin, Mallory and Irvin to have big seasons.

Brother I don’t want him going but I did say money first. And kids care about now not the past. OJ Howard was a 1st rd first pick but I’d take Darnell all day over him.

N'Joku was drafted in the first round the same year as OJ...followed by Chris Herndon in the 3rd round as opposed to whoever that Bama TE that got drafted in the 4th.

Infact, in terms of "Now", like, at this moment. We have 4 TE's on an NFL roster, every single one of them is starting. That, of course, isn't counting Erik Swoope because obviously he played basketball here.

Bama has 3 with only OJ starting.

Again no one can compare with our TE in the nfl. Just my opinion on a selling point from Bama

OJ Howard got drafted in the first round *despite* going to Alabama, not because of it. If Clemson doesn’t literally leave him uncovered for two plays his college career is considered a bust, not because he sucked, but because Bama didn’t use him for more than a decoy.

Besides the money They will probably sell him on being the next OJ Howard
I think what we do this year and what Brevin and Malery do will have a big impact. If he sees that we can win at the top and he can get his shine on in SF, then we have a solid chance. This is his 2nd visit to Miami, so we're in the mix.

He won't be playing with Tua at Alabama. Perhaps his brother who is good, but not as good as Tua. Who knows what Alabama's offense will look like in the future. Perhaps more ground and pound. Washington knows he can be a 1st round pick at either school because both schools put 1st round TEs in the league in 2016.

The crazy thing is, he will literally be playing for us or against us as we play Alabama in 2021.

Thank you

And we will need a mismatch nightmare like him to have a chance in that game.

They probably wouldn’t even use him, or have him out there blocking all game.

And we actually used him well while he was here unlike Baga with Howard.
Exactly so if that’s what they’re selling then we’re in the drivers seat. ****, he just worked out with David yesterday.

Paradise Camp is about players building relationships with coaches and players with other players. This is one of the few opportunities for future Canes to meet their fellow peers. From what I read, I believe this camp was a huge success. The fact that Van Dyke is recruiting Washington and other players is huge.!!! It tells me that Van Dyke is locked in. I'm sure there were several guys that want to play with Van Dyke after they saw him in person., how he performed, and his personality.

The only commitments that really matter are the ones on signing day.

Definitely the best way to sum it up.... paradise is the appetizer to get kids to want to take ovs and another chance to recruit and look at most of the kids you’re recruiting. Manny brought kids the STAFF want and wanted them to compete to see who the Miami kids are....I bet some kids fell down the board and some rose. We also got to see how good some of our future canes are like Chaney TVD Res and others.
