The one thing I believe coming into this game - turned to siht.

Our Offensive Line suked dingleberries. They couldn't get push, and they couldn't pass protect.

Morris looked as unsettled as a man just shot at, and was expecting more.

Someone needs to teach the team how to calm themselves in a genuine shooting situation - make a tight left fist, and concentrate on it. Now you can react, and won't be thinking - crossing yourself up as Coley and a few others did.

I don't think we can say it enough how much better our D played! Lets hope we keep that fire going

I thought the O-line did a good job in pass protection for the most part.... Morris had a lot of time to throw he just was off and forced throws when he should've went to the check down.

The game wasnt that bad... Miami won 34-6 in the opener.

THE DEFENSE IS WHAT MIAMI FANS SHOULD BE HAPPY ABOUT..... they played a perfect game for the most part besides the penalties.

Is Miami physically ready to deal with Florida? I don't think that question was answered tonight...... Grown man ish coming in next week

Excellent Plus/Minus Dan.

Very...shall I say...ColePens-esque.

Really liked the DL tonight.

That said, this effort would result in a 10-13 point loss next week. Really need to play much better on offense. Hope to get #2 back.

OL was suppose to steam roll, but collapsed per the norm in key situations.

Dropset should be benched until he can step his game up. We have too many other good prospects at this position to let a guy who can't do what it takes excel at his position every time he steps on the field. Dude is a jr, and it went from drops, to not knowing how to run routes. He isn't sneaking past any safeties this year. The gig is up Phillip.

Duke should have never been in the game past halftime. The game was in hand, and 8 being the type a player he is. He is going to let it all hang out even when the play goes the other direction. #23 or 7 could have carried the load in the 3rd and 4th.

Defense showed signs of progress, and this year group of freshman are showing how well Al has done on the recruiting trail.

There are things that need to be fixed on offense, but they are fixable. Its the first game.

My takeaway from the game is that we have a defense that's bigger and faster than last year, and seemed more dedicated to swarming to the ball. That's what I've been praying for all offseason.

Ignore everything you saw in the 4th quarter. We were going to the 3rd and 4th strings.

lol How does the "effort" that UM players showed tonight result in a clear loss?.... I didnt see any players taking plays off like Clowney and the defensive players played their *** off the entire game.

You just think Florida and start sounding like a ***** immediately like their team is ****n perfect the first game of the season.... gtfoh w/ that weak ****.

You dont even know the difference between effort and simply being rusty in the 1st game

Bring on UF!

*We'll be o.k., it was the first game of the year. I bet you K-State would like to trade places with us. We'll work the kinks out this week in preparation for UF.

Was slightly disappointed in our short yardage offense. We should have pushed their **** in.

This was a concern of mine coming into the season. It's been bad the past two seasons.

Also, Morris did not look sharp at all. We need him to step up.

I think he's saying that if we want to beat UF next week, those drops by Coley and Perryman can't happen. The two penalties by Perryman can't happen. And the lack of a push by the OL in short yardage situations cannot happen. Morris can't be throwing pickles like he did that one play either.

Not much really jumped out to me on offense. Inconsistent. Out of sync. Maybe that is to be expected the first game. Coley drops were obviously bad. On the bright side, he was wide open and I have no doubt he will be a playmaker. O-line was questionable.

On D, was FAU's pass offense that bad or was our coverage that good? I suspect perhaps a little of both but mostly FAU pass offense was just bad.

D-line: his name didn't get called much but it was obvious Porter was sucking up blockers. I thought it was obvious and made a huge difference in our run d. Olsen Pierre seemed to be the most active D-lineman.

Lastly, #36 needs to be on the field, somehow, someway. He is a big play waiting to open.

All in all, I thought we looked better. One area that remains a big cause of concern for me are the penalties. Still way too many. Didnt hurt us too badly tonight facing an outgunned opponent, but against Florida, Fla. State, etc., could kill us.

Gus looked great. I think he'll end up being backup. Clements leans forward way too much when he runs; why he seems to trip rather easily. He needs to keep his feet under him more.

Agree with pharmcane - morris/dorsett connection is off. even dating back to last year. when dorsett tries to break away from dudes deep, he likes to lead them across the field. morris inevitably ends up throwing it 5 yards beyond and behind dorsett as if he expects dorsett to run a straight fly pattern. saw this repeatedly this and last year. not sure who to blame. curious at best that this hasn't been figured out.

Solid.

You know the offense was holding back not wanting to show UiF anything. The OL still concerns me against a legit front though.

We will see.

Yeah but thats not a lack of effort at all.... We all know how explosive Morris and this offense is already so its not like there is any other valid explanation besides rust that can explain why Morris missed some throws and Stacy dropped some passes.

I agree that the penalties cant happen next week... Perryman wants to hurt ppl so bad which i like but he gotta play smarter too.

All these things are correctable though it didnt look anything like last year where it just looks as if Miami is going to be helpless for the rest of the year.

Two supposed strengths--offensive line and Morris--did not look great.

They HAVE to step up.

We look rusty but good W. My only thing is the DTs and OL looked like ****. Theres no way we out physical Ufak. What was the big thing on the board with Porter dude was on skates, Pierre is the only inside guy I like so far.

Porter may not be a 100% b/c of his back but i saw him do a good job disrupting the O-line today.... Luther Robinson also. Jelani Hamilton, Kamalu, Green, Chickilo, AQM, and Gilbert all did a very good job putting pressure on the QB.

The OL did a good job in pass protection but those Guards arent that good in run support at all.... Seantrel Henderson is the best of the bunch imo. he was mauling dudes all game for the most part.

Gotta be kidding me. Our Guards are our best 2 linemen. The problem is this stupid *** shuffle they're doing. Bunche is terrible no matter where you put him. I watched him whiff multiple times tonight. They put Feliciano back at the Guard spot and what do ya know, big run.
