Excellent interview! Austin, Pete, thank you. Great stuff! Biggest game in Hard Rock history in six days...Can’t wait!

I listened but was kinda sidetracked. Did he say anything that could make us hopeful that this Offense has a lot more to it that we've been unable to run due to personnel or lack of complete trust in Rosier or something - particularly if there's any under center looks we just aren't running?

Like we need to do something to figure this run game out, because the outside/inside zone run has been absolute ****. And as a result our Redzone Offense is terrible and our 3rd down offense (especially 3rd and short) has been about just as bad.

Pfenny is a good interview. Have him and D$ on more often.

Thought it said Alfred Pennyworth.....still worthy of a listen.

He mentioned there is a lil bit more in the playbook that hasnt been shown yet. Obv didnt say what is was. And who knows if its more aggressive or not.

Richt will not give up the play calling. He stated that was one of the big draws in taking this job. He got bored at Georgia as just the head coach. I would like to see an additional offensive assistant added to the staff as number #10 .

First game I've been to in a while so I hope we show up. I hope Offense get's it together because this is not a good product we are showing. I like that CMR does't sugar coat what's wrong. Whether he can fix it in time before we implode is another story. A couple of big plays here and there but the rest is so very bad, particularly at QB. I'm very impressed with the defense's conditioning, however. Points off turnovers is a real joke. It appears that they are always on the field and still strong in the 4th. Bottom line is that we will either prove everyone wrong or we will prove everyone right. It's US against everyone for sure.

Something I don’t understand that we don’t use more short yardage situations is more unbalanced OLs. Bring a swing tackle in since our TE depth is garbage. Then put Herndon in the backfield. Good power teams that I’ve seen have a good swing OT for these situations.

Using motions is obvious. Like Austin said, there is no downside. It only offers a bonus. Doesn’t make sense that an offensive coach doesn’t use motions in his offense.

We need Better OL, additional RB's,TE's, and WR's... unfortunately, those won't come until next year...

Until then, we are going to be a very streaky team, trying to out strategize our opponents. Punch and counter punch with the talent we have.

Hmmm, "more motion, jet sweeps and the offense is vanilla". Now where have I heard that?

That's a good take. Unbalanced lines were a Kehoe staple. Used to run that stuff regularly in 2002-03. IIRc, it used to be very effective - we'd throw in there Joseph, Carey, Winston (as the 2nd TE) and another huge guy would line up and straight maul people.

I don't understand why Austin didn't give me a shout out. I offered to fly to Iowa and kill his coaches.

apfenny3 I haven't listened to the full podcast yet, can't wait for the drive home today, so apologies if this was addressed, but how much do you think Malik's limited experience and lack of field vision play in to the offense's struggles, if at all? To my eyes, he seems to throw to the wrong read pretty frequently and definitely does not seem to view the whole field well most of the time.

I certainly don't mean to say that Rosier is not smart, clearly he is very intelligent, but a lot like a RB's instincts and vision are an intangible that can go somewhat overlooked, my take is that Malik's combination of relative lack of experience, almost criminal lack of attention from the prior coaching staff who let him slide without doing film review until he was thrust into action two years ago vs. Duke, and what may be a bit of tunnel vision and difficulty quickly assessing what is happening on the field in front of him... To me, that is a big part of what is limiting this offense.

Just curious as to your thoughts on that if you care to comment.

Thanks again bro, always a great listen and look forward to keeping tabs on your future.
