Following a disappointing start to the 2021 season, D$ and I give our takes on the current state of the Miami program and how UM could proceed from here. Later, Tolbert Bain II doesn't hold much back in providing his perspective as a former player.
that would be great .... but like other people do, i personally know some mandy slurpers that are beyond help .... unfortunately thereI don't know. This time around feels very different than with Richt or Golden. I think at this point most everybody wants Manny gone.
if you owned a business and you might -- i don't know , but i'm sure if you hired someone to do a job that had clear objectives andThree years has always been my barometer. Good coaches have their programs in year three solidified.
I’m in the same boat!!!Anyone else just tired? 15+ years of the same cycle of **** we've had to endure. It's draining. Being a UM football diehard fan is exhausting and honestly feels more like a chore at this point.
if you owned a business and you might -- i don't know , but i'm sure if you hired someone to do a job that had clear objectives and
expectations of work performance, it would not take you three years to see whether or not your employee had the skills to
do the job or achieve the goals you hired him to do or satisfied you that there was even an expectation of that happening
based on work performance and tangible improvement.
a football coach should not be paid millions of dollars for achieving clear goals and get a multi-year free ride when it is
obvious in year one to anyone with a cerebral cortex, that he has no skills and those goals will never be achieved.
coaches should get a contract with a base salary of no more than $250,000 with incentive clauses. success is easily measurable in coaching.
making big money in coaching should **** well be earned.
there is no other business where someone can stay in a job making $3 million a year and achieve nothing. its bull****.
And, there really is no logical justification for not holding Blake accountable and firing him.If Diaz is fired, the President and board need to dump James.
Franklin would be a better choice for USC.If he isn't available, then it will be time to climb aboard the Lane Train.
Even Finebum (not a relative) thinks Kiffin is a much better coach than he used to be.
“He has matured and he has grown up. He’s not the same coach (as he was in first stint with USC),” Finebaum said. “From a selfish standpoint, I hope he does get the job so Lane will quit blaming me on television every time he’s on our show for me getting him fired in 2013, for a comment I made on College GameDay.
“Lane hasn’t really been asked about it yet. He was on our Saturday morning show yesterday and I was tempted to ask him and I just thought, ‘No, it’s not quite that time.’ It’s hard for me to believe he would be a serious candidate, based on what’s happened, but he should be a serious candidate. As good as James Franklin is — and I think James Franklin would be an excellent person to look at — I think Kiffin, in some ways, would be better.”
Kiffin seems to have matured as a coach. Let's see how Ole Miss performs against Alabama, Auburn, TAMU, Arkansas and LSU. Kiffin went 0-4 against these teams last season (didn't play TAMU).Would Blake James hire him? No. But if Miami has an AD like Highsmith and he actually goes through a list of candidates who would be a good fit for the program, it may be possible.
What exactly did Kiffin do that was so awful that he should be off limits? Did he date a co-ed and crash a scooter? Punch a player? Lock one in the closet? He never committed a major recruiting violation. The worst thing he did in terms of breaking NCAA rules got him publicly reprimanded for saying out loud something that everyone already knew - Urban Meyer is a cheater (as you know, he said that he had a recruit on campus, and Urban Meyer kept calling the recruit in violation of the rules which I absolutely believe). He apologized afterward and acknowledged he made a mistake. So he left Tennessee after one year. That's his huge sin? All the talk about his "bad behavior" involves fairly mundane stuff and happened more than 7 years ago. The absolute worse thing that he supposedly did is that there was an allegation he said something mean to Alshon Jeffrey, which Kiffin vehemently denies. After he went to work for Saban in 2013, he's been a model citizen. Someone will have to explain to me what Kiffin did that was so awful that hiring him would taint UM.
Great gameday coach, elite even.Mullet(and I hate ufag) took his team from 4 wins to a NY6 in one year. That guys a goofball but he is an actual coach
When you've lost this guy, you've lost the entire fanbase. My biggest concern is does anything change.
From top down.
One top 15 finish in 16 years. I certainly do not want to speak for anyone else but I for one am sick and ******* tired about hearing about "such and such BOT member is super mad".
Ohh really? And?
The revelation they have not used ANY BOOSTER money to fund the football program and constantly complain about not having money...
.
Cribby....
I **** near stroked out.
What are we doing here? I mean ****. The definition of insanity...
My quote isn't directed at you directly mind you. Speaking broadly.
Appreciate-cha
FRENK??? You expect FRENK to take action regarding the football program? He has "0" interest in getting involved with athletics .. his realm is the med school .. period. That is one of the problems at UM .. Frenk.FIRE MANNY NOW.
Do not wait. USC got it right. Frenk needs to send a clear signal that Miami will not settle and is looking to hire a national championship coaching staff. Get his search experts talking to and vetting potential head coaches now. There are no rules against that. That way, when the season ends, we'll have our #1 through #5 targets all lined up and able to close the deal before any other programs looking for HCs make it an auction.
Franklin ain't leaving Penn State. It's home for him and basically his dream job.Franklin would be a better choice for USC.
Watching this clip last week my stomach dropped at the 8 second mark and knew we had a problem. This explains why we looked gas.
