Guys have been bashing KaiLeon but it’s oretty hard to be a D1 OL with a bum shoulder. Glad he’s finally healthy and looking forward to seeing what he can doPayton going to be a complete receiver. In his film in highschool Payton had the knack of making the dynamic catches already so you know he has that in his toolbox. He just looks very good at receiver right now imo. Plays much faster than he tested in highschool kind of like Ahmmon Richards who ran a 4.68 at one of those camps in highschool.
Y’all didn’t say much about him in the podcast but I think Kai-Leon Herbert did pretty well too. I think It’s Been a positive spring for him
They mentioned in the last 2 minutes of the podcast that his injury was not as bad as it looked. No specifics given. What's the good word?
Lol 1 throw for 17 yards we haven't seen it Since Morris?..... LMBO..bad observationYeah, but that 1 was a throw we haven't seen since Morris.
Most posters and some announcers continue to say JW was the best QB in the scrimmage. Quite frankly, my many views of the various scrimmage videos says that Kosi showed well. The competition between the two QB's at worst was even, and perhaps Kosi had a slight edge.
Stated simply, Kosi suffers from "porster" bias.
Idky everyone is writing any QBs off just yet it was 1 scrimmage. All had some head scratching throws I don’t believe any of them showed they are the number 1 guy just yet. Jarren should’ve thrown 2 INTs but were dropped. Tate played badly but not as bad as media portrays and Kosi still has his inconsistent throws.
I believe the spring game all will show Improvement but I still believe Enos can win with all 3 but the guy who understands the playbook the most will win the job. All 3 can get the job done but who will be able to lead and know the playbook best. Tell me what u guys think
I agree with u on all points. I just think Tate is getting a bad wrap rn bc I see him as just uncomfortable not doing things he’s used to so the fact to me that the other 2 are not blowing him out of the race is scary to me. I think Tate will win the job after getting more reps and getting comfortable with the new way of doing things. I may be wrong and I’ll admit it but he just looks not used to the new offense yet and when he does he will take over the QB comp.Enos can win with all three but he needs a qb that can attack all areas of the field, not sure if Jarren can as of yet...and Tate has a way to go to be settled in...
Our o-line really has to gel for this offense to work with a game manager because I don't see any of the QBs possessing the anticipation of a Ken Dorsey which is a must if your arm talent is less than elite...
JW in my opinion has good arm talent, TM remains to be seen... Kosi can make every throw and his passes are out in front hitting the wrs in stride
Can Enos get his pre snap game and understanding to match his arm is the key
Let’s talk about that recent history. Who won the battle when I said Kaaya over Heaps? I was the only media guy on that train.
As for the next battle, I predicted that Perry would beat out Rosier before he got here because Rosier and Shirreffs were so bad. Once Perry got here, he clearly wasn’t mentally ready. We ended up with three sub-par QBs.
You don’t have to take my word for it on Jarren. Most have said the same thing. He looks the most poised and has the most accurate arm. But we won’t know what we really have until the games start.
As for Tate...I'm not even going to judge him yet as you can tell the game is going 100 miles an hour for him right now. He had classic deer-in-the-headlights syndrome. He's just not ready yet.
I disagree with Money Jarren was against 2nd and 3rd team, Perry was better 1st ,2nd scrimmages imo, Money is being bias towards Perry. Williams would had 3picks.
Last year, DMoney said, “Perry doesn’t have the good looking features to be the starting QB.”
You know...I haven't wanted to chime in on this heated topic but at this point I think I have enough to at least draw an opinion
I had no business being at the scrimmage this past weekend because of my line of work and the timing of the whole thing...but one of the long time posters on this site dragged me out there and given how weak and undisciplined I am...I gave in. We scrutinized the **** out of every **** throw they made, and not just the end result, but the decision making process given the route combinations , coverages being played , and whether or not the starting defense was on the field at the time.
All I can say is I'm pretty surprised to see D Money and Lu Cane (both of which I respect and know a lot of football) being so heavily pro-Williams. I came away with the exact OPPOSITE viewpoint.
To me, it wasn't even that close when you take all of the relative factors into account. Perry was a lot better. He had one bad miss in the corner of the end zone that was a poorly thrown ball but even that one wouldn't have hurt us as it wasn't thrown anywhere near the defender either. Perry has the better arm and to me made some throws into tight windows that were quite frankly, quite impressive. His biggest weakness is he still at times holds the ball too long, but I honestly feel like he has the most upside of the 3....both near and long term.
Williams put wayyyyyyyyy too much air on a deep throw he made that I really didn't like. He was late on the throw (a common theme for him throughout several points of the scrimmage) and hung the ball up way too high and allowed the defender to make a play on it. That throw is in addition to the other ones that could have been picked off that have already been mentioned ad nauseum on this board.

I think Perry is the clear leader at this point. People on this board need to be reminded that we had THE worst offensive coordinator in the HISTORY of the program calling the shots last year. Perry should not be judged on that abomination from the depths of Hades. You could have thrown Joe Montana out there last year and given all the other factors....he would failed miserably.
The offense overall showed some things I really liked. The middle of the field will be attacked without a doubt....which we haven't had around here in a LONNNGGGGGG time. I saw ACTUAL SHALLOW CROSSES BEING RUN over the middle of the field. True story, I almost wept when I saw that.
I'm cautiously optimistic about the offense.
It was the other way around. I said that a guy who looks like that should be the hardest worker on the team, like Peyton Manning.
But he made a porno right after I said that so who knows.

Few points:
1. D and I have historically disagreed *a lot*. Especially on QBs. Especially on evaluating QBs in practice. So, this should actually be a surprise to most. We must either both be drunk or we noticed some of the same things in the scrimmage. Maybe both.
2. I'm not "pro" Williams. If he wins the job, great for him. I've said a number of times I don't care at all who starts. Perry could start at QB with only a condom on and i'd only care if he wins us games. Tate can rise up and win the job away from the other two and that's all good by me. Just win.
3. I'll talk in more detail about what I saw re: both Williams and Perry after the last scrimmage. It's a matter of the types of throws and what I expect from the small glimpse of what Enos showed + previous offenses.
Again, I do NOT have a horse in this race and would be happy if Perry claims the job and makes a **** scene out of every opponent on our schedule this season. It's been so long since we win meaningfully that I simply don't care who gets us there.
There is no bias. Most people at the scrimmage thought Jarren was the best QB. Most people at the Savannah State game thought Jarren was the best QB. Most people at last year’s spring game thought Jarren was the best QB.
Does that mean Jarren actually is the best QB? Of course not. The sample size is tiny and full contact is a whole different animal. But this is a consistent thing that has nothing to do with me.
