If Bama is smart they start Adams against us.

Although Quick is a 1st round Draft pick most likely...but we seem to play well vs big arms.

But this is a big game.

I'd love if JD switched a lot of things up. What we are doing isnt working. Move guys around. His job is safe so who the f cares.

At first glance I figured Adams would be the for sure start, but he recently got bumped out of the starting rotation

If I’m bama I’m taking my chances with a lefty so it’ll be interesting to see what they decide

I think they go with Adams with the lefty matchup.

Agree.. gotta do something, especially in 7-8-9. Move something down there and break that up. Sit Renzo and move Peralta up just to shuffle the automatic outs around. Just let Marsh play 1B, there's a chance his bat comes around, Renzo's bat will never come around because it doesn't exist.

I'd probably throw Peralta in the 2 hole and either drop Galvin to 3 and Cuvet to 4 or leave Cuvet 3 and go Galvin 4. Dorian 5 or 6 and then Tanner Smith and the DH fill out the top 7. Torres 9 automatically.

Hopefully we get Williams and/or Hudson back just to plug them in. Can't possibly be worse.

It's an interesting discussion and I don't disagree...

...but at this point isn't discussing who is in the lineup and where just rearranging chairs on the Titanic?

It's not going to matter if JD picked names out of a hat for the lineup.
I would like to see Williams come back as the DH...
We are 1-6 in our last seven games. This is Big Boy competition this weekend..
I actually thought about going and I reminded myself how bad we are and cancelled my plans.

At this point you might as well just stack the top of the lineup with the big 3: Ogden - Cuvet - Galvin as those three are the only ones who have shown any sort of consistency at the plate. Then play small ball and pray with the rest of the lineup. Tall order any way you look at it when your lineup includes Renzo .223 (27 K), Torres .185 (24K), Peralta .247 (33K). Even Dorian .262 (35K). That's anemic for college.

Is tickets on sale yet? Where are they for purchase?

You're not wrong. I'm just a miserable fan at this point.

That's really the only hope, and it gets them as many ABs as possible. But if Hugus and Ciscar don't go deep in their starts, it's probably 2 and BBQ.

Road RPI has me really nervous about 0-2 and a bbq

If Hugus goes tomorrow, Ciscar and DeRias are hittable and live on letting guys put the ball in play and keeping it on the ground. Ciscar has better swing and miss stuff, though. Its not out of the realm of possibility that an Ivy League team tees off on one of them and starts putting balls in the air and they go out. Recipe for disaster. Those same arms are the ones most likely to beat a team that lives on the long ball like Alabama, whereas they likely tee off on Hugus.

Hugus would dominate Columbia if we chose to go with Ciscar/DeRias game 1 for whatever reason (we won't, I know). He would likely shove against a Sun Belt team like Southern Miss too if we actually won game 1 and got that matchup.

I'd be curious of what actual analytics say as far as to who we should throw against Alabama, I'd put money on Ciscar as the actual best matchup. The analytics don't factor in age/experience and its unlikely we throw a true freshman game 1 of a regional on the road, so I get it. Still think its the best option even with that consideration but JD is old school and we're going to throw our "Ace" and Friday guy in game 1 on a Friday because that's what his boss has always done.

Columbia 100% can beat us. They will not be impressed by the logo. But they just don’t have many good arms so that should be a W. But they will swing it.

Tom Hart will serve as play-by-play announcer for the Hattiesburg Regional at Pete Taylor Park. Gaby Sanchez will work alongside Hart as color commentator for the broadcasts.
