PODCAST: Canes get ready for Duke with guest Steve “K9” Kim

It was clear Mario wanted to keep A&M close by running and controlling clock. It almost worked and actually did work. Miami dominated that game and should’ve won. We can say the offense sucks but Miami has been in every game and should’ve won them all if we just scored a few more TD’s in the redzone.
I liked the strategy especially in the first half to give us a good chance in the 2nd half. What we failed to do was be more aggressive in that last 2 quarters and we eventually stalled. If we saw the same offensive style in that game we saw last week we beat TAMU.

Well done! This was my favorite one so far. Need to find a way to have a recurring Steve segment mashed into this somehow.

Agreed. I think that comes with learning your team and adjusting. We all expect things to be perfect game 1. **** that’s not even possible for coaches who recruited the entire roster let alone a brand new staff.

I want to see how the rest of the season plays out but it’s also hard to judge the offense with so many key injuries.

That offense requires a better OL and skilled route running WR. We’re not there yet.

No comment on Franklin? Is he ever going to live up to his promise?

The grassy.com days he spoke of were the best…can never repeat those days

Original Canes Fan, Random Walk, Mapcane, Laus, jack light, lonny, marty rubin, mark kugler, (and others) .... it was glorious

This.

When you have the ball in your hands with 2 minutes to go, and in a position to win the game, (as we pretty much were with all three losses), ..... you can't really point your finger at the strategy and say, "that's exactly why we lost."

I first hit the agree button. But tbh, I don't think we should have been playing to win the last drive of the game with any of those opponents. We should have been trying to score more and put the burden on the opponent to keep trying to weaknesses in our defense. At some point, they would have made more mistakes.

Gattis did a great job adjusting for UNC and Va Tech. But he should have adjusted following Southern Miss (again, that could be Mario's stubbornness not Gattis). TVD and Brock Berlin parallels are obvious. The kid is just so much more comfortable in the gun with a spread. I think we would have beaten TAMU if we had adjusted to his strengths for that game.

Chase Smith has been / is injured? This is the first time I've heard it.
