@k9cane -- phenomenal.
So Lamar Thomas saying the same things about the trick plays as many on the board.
Coaches caught up with an identify vs. what the offense should be.
Nailed it. Again.
I agree 100%. Seeing it live it painful at times. It can take the air out of the Stadium and of course the players. I mean it was homecoming and not for the shirtless posse to get the crowd laughing, it was dead for large parts of it.yes, Lamar was actually a bit perplexed by why they needed that vs a team of that caliber. But as he saw the emotion it created with the players -- he was all on board with it
Too many of our games are absolute grinds -- or 'slogs' as I like to call it-- and the players feed off that low energy. Players want to play in fun and productive systems. I don't blame them. Football is already a tough enough game without having ANY fun

Especially Beck and even from Mario we hear them say let’s go out and have some fun. After all, it’s a game and taking the fun out it makes for a boring game for both the players and the fans.yes, Lamar was actually a bit perplexed by why they needed that vs a team of that caliber. Steve often mentions his relationship with Kaaya & his father. So, wonder if he has a clue on why Brad left early for the NFL as well as who was advising him at the time? Realize this pre-dated NIL era & opportunity for college players to earn legit money, but always thought the decision made little sense.
Steve & D$,
Agree with you completely....just as Richt cracked the code offensively for FSU with Charlie Ward by going shotgun fulltime, Dawson has to crack the code for Beck...
It could be an emphasis on couple simple offensive principles instead of completely revamping the offensive calls, i.e.;
- snapping the ball quicker- with minimum of 10 secs on the play clock as a goal
- asking Beck to get the ball out of his hands in under 3 to 4 sec majority of the time
I totally get the perspective, but after adjusting for Mario in the denominator, I am cool with it, too.
It got us out of a rut and into the EZ- so the team needed it, Beck needed it, etc.
More importantly, we broke tendencies. IDGAF if we toss it back to JoJo Trader who flicks back our punter and he quick kicks for a FG, just break a tendency.
The whole offense feeds thru 10 and 4, 75% of the time. Hopefully, defenses will have to think for a sec that we might go another direction.
That’s unfortunate. His entering the draft seemed ill-advised & we obviously would have benefitted had he returned.Lets put it this way, Richt didn't exactly go all out in trying to get Brad to return. Also, not sure if this has been posted before, but Braxton Berrios was VERY close to transferring to Ariz St from what I was told before that 2017 season

This is 100% true. When a big play hits, its almost always followed by more big plays.yes, Lamar was actually a bit perplexed by why they needed that vs a team of that caliber. But as he saw the emotion it created with the players -- he was all on board with it

Whether its the defense responding with a turnover after a big TD, or effective runs plowing the road play after play into the endzone.
Its obvious, and the coaches dont realize it.
