Just keep in mind, ACC staffs LOVED Al Golden and Manny Diaz. They respected Mark Richt, but they didn't fear him because they knew he was aging out of the role. There's a reason why they don't like Mario, and it has more to do with the fact that the Miami program, for the first time in almost 30 years is being managed like a big boy program.

Yes, Mario is a meathead, but let's be honest, Dabo isn't some savant. He's a dude that was able to stack talent, raiding areas thanks to a rules environment that limited competition for talent to a handful of schools. Mario, if he can hit on a DC, and find a way to keep Dawson around, may be loading up for a run and Miami has shown a level of commitment rarely seen in these parts. If he can find a way to get this thing going, it may turn into a solid run, and unlike Butch, Mario is the kind of guy that wants to stay and be a legend. ACC Coaches don't want that, and that's why they don't like him. Combine that with a dude that honestly, doesn't give a F**k about what others think, and you get dumbass nonsense like this.

Agree 100%. Dabo is not some X’s and O’s wizard. Neither was Ed Orgeron. But they could stack talent and hire coordinators like Joe Brady, Chad Morris, Brent Venables, Dave Aranda etc .. guys who were smarter than them to help build a program. Mario, much like Butch is a program builder. Hopefully history repeats itself.
