Can't teach 6"8 305. Maybe the kid developed this year after bama and Auburn filled up their class? Considering our O line now I'll take fo sho.

That's the big dude Richt was talking about when he first got here. Lmao 6'8 305 and looks like he can hold another 25-30 pounds easy. Imagine having Donaldson 6'6 330 and this dude on the same line and then Hillery's athleticism scattered in there somewhere.

Miami has never gotten a recruit from north Alabama. Also do we really want a kid from Alabama that isn't being recruited by Bama or Auburn?

The fact that Bama isn't recruiting him doesn't concern me much simply because they have their pick of top recruits but the fact that Auburn isn't definitely raises a eyebrow.

On the surface, definitely. I had the same thought, but they have a very solid class right now led by 5-star OT Calvin Ashley out of MD, formerly of the Orlando area. They also have commitments from high 4-star AL native OT Austin Troxell and 4-star G/C Nick Brahms from FL. I'm sure they are on other high end OL as well. However, Ashley is trending to Maryland right now and that could cause Bateman to get a look from them.

Did LSU offer Ed Reed?

This is so dumb. Reed was recruited almost 20 years ago, if he was recruited in this day of age no doubt he would have been offered. So it's retarded to bring Reed up.

Find me a 2* safety from Louisiana that has an LSU offer.

Tyrann Mathieu...aka the Honey Badger. LSU was his ONLY offer iirc.

Can you name 2 colfb recruiting services in the 90s? dial up internet days....reed wouldnt have been overlooked that hard in this era.

You guys miss the point...Just because a player is being overlooked by an instate school doesn't mean someone else can't see his potential. Not every DE/DT that Kool put in the NFL had offers to their home state school.

I"m just saying he wouldn't have slipped through the cracks in this day and age. LSU offer or not he wouldn't have been a 2*.

Why didnt Tenn recruit Corn Elder?... Better and newer example than Reed.

Elder wanted to play football and basketball and Tennessee wouldn't give in on that idea. He played basketball at Miami for like 2 days before he realized it wasn't going to work. That being said, the Nashville area typically doesn't have the pull and respect for the University of Tennessee as the rest of the state for some reason. I'd argue that kids in Georgia respect and see Tennessee more appealing than kids in Tennessee do. I don't think Elder ever liked UT as a potential choice.

He wasn't an unknown here, I drove 4 hours to watch him play. He racked up 330 yards and 7 TDs in probably the most impressive game I've ever watched from a single player in my life in Tennessee high school football. That list includes Randall Cobb, played against him in the playoffs, Coty Sensabaugh who is in the NFL, Jalen Ramsey, etc etc

Would have loved to see what this kid could have done on offense for us

Keep the OL commits coming. 6'8'' 305 should give Searles something to work with.

Here is an older interview he Bateman did with a Michigan site. I doubt Bateman's offer to Michigan was committable otherwise he would have committed to them already. I think Michigan offered Bateman simply to aggravate Bama and Nick Saban by recruiting a player in Bama's backyard.

Read that grades are borderline!

If that's the case Saban is laughing his *** off at Harbaugh because he's got 5 OL committed better than Bateman. However, we all know that's not why he's recruiting this kid. He's being recruited by Harbaugh because he's 6'8 305 pounds and a good player

Michigan didn't take him because of grades.

It's baffling that people actually think a coach would offer a player simply to **** off another coach.

Not a shot at Paranos btw. I actually like the guy.
