Oregon State safety transfer Conrad Hussey Signs With Miami

Miami adds another depth piece from the transfer portal.

Former Florida State and Oregon State defensive back Conrad Hussey has signed with the Miami Hurricanes, the program announced Tuesday afternoon.

Hussey spent this past season at Oregon State, where he saw limited action, appearing in two games and recording three tackles.

The 6-foot, 185-pound defensive back was a four-star prospect coming out of St. Thomas Aquinas High School in Fort Lauderdale, FL, and now arrives in Coral Gables looking to carve out a role and provide depth in the secondary.

The shoulder pads i wore in junior high were bigger than the pads these players are wearing today. And that doesn't even mention the lack of any lower body pads for some.

Looks like that injury was while he was still at FSU.

sure, I'm old school, but it's football, and this game really hurts.

someone is going to have to explain to me the wisdom and benefit of basically playing football in a helmet and a pair of my wife's yoga pants.

This kid isn’t coming in to be depth peace . This kid imo when he was fsu was the best safety they had. He going to get lots of PT imo he’ prob play Scott’s role . He was good when he was at fsu with our db coaches and d cord he will be better than what most people thought

BINGO. Im sure its not a deciding factor but it can never hurt to have other kids from STA on the roster when we are looking to add two ELITE guys from there this year!

He’s listed at 170 on ESPN. I was shocked when I saw him off the field too cuz he looks much bigger on the field and trust me I hope he’s all conference too, but we solved our size issue going out to get Hussey so I ain’t worried

I was coming here to say something similar. To me, he fits the nickel/K scott role. Plenty athletic to cover and violent. Could be a sneaky good add at the end of the portal cycle.
