Former Nebraska running back Ajay Allen has decided to transfer to the University of Miami after spending one season with the Cornhuskers. Allen, a true freshman in 2022, gained 190 yards on 33 carries and scored two touchdowns before his season was cut short by a broken collarbone in the fourth game. Ranked as the No. 502 player in the country per the 247 Sports Composite for the class of 2022, the 5-foot-11, 182-pound running back from Monroe, Louisiana will have four years of college football eligibility remaining.
The Miami Hurricanes' running back room already boasts talent and depth with the likes of Henry Parrish Jr., who led the team in total rushing yards in 2022 with 617 yards and 4.7 yards per carry, along with four touchdowns. Other players include Don Chaney Jr., who had a strong spring and has impressed the coaching staff with his abilities, and TreVonte' Citizen. However, Citizen is likely to miss fall camp, and his return remains uncertain, making the addition of Allen crucial for depth purposes.
