Coach Tricia Collup and the Miami Hurricanes women’s basketball team are off to a strong start in the transfer portal, having secured one of the top forwards available: Jessica Peterson, a center transfer from SMU.

Jessica was part of the SMU squad for three years, during which she played at Fresno State in her freshman year of college. In the 2024-25 season at SMU, she averaged 10.3 points per game and 12.0 rebounds per game.

The 6-foot-2 senior from Rancho Cucamonga, California, shot 45.8 percent from the field and 55.2 percent from the free throw line.

Jessica, Gal, Blasigh, and Kone are the first players to be added to Miami's roster this offseason. They will be part of a group that includes high school recruits.
