Miami veteran LB Mohamed Toure Will Return For His 8th Year

Miami is getting a big piece back on defense.

According to Peter Ariz of CanesInSight, veteran linebacker Mohamed Toure will return to Miami for an eighth year of college football. Toure’s decision brings proven experience and leadership back to the Hurricanes’ linebacker room.

Toure saw solid action last season for the Hurricanes, finishing with 54 total tackles and two sacks. Over the course of his college career, which includes his time prior to Miami at Rutgers, Toure has totaled 168 tackles, 22.5 tackles for loss, and 13.5 sacks.

The former Rutgers linebacker has battled injuries before hitting his time in Miami, but when healthy, he’s been a steady, physical presence in the middle of the defense. Getting a veteran like Toure back for another season is a major boost for Mario Cristobal’s defense heading into 2026.

Toure started the season kind of average but turned into a grown *** man finding his groove late in the season. I'm good with having a 30 year old monster at LB next season.
