Agree. I’m aware of the financial windfall for their program, and many others across the country. I’m just thinking, how do you prepare the players to be sacrificial lambs in a game like this? They know, the coaches know, and the AD knows the outcome. I’m also aware of the locker room pep talk they must get before a game like this, and they’ve had some recent success in at least one game where they gave our boys a run for their money in a down year for us. Otherwise, it’s a total mismatch.

Back in 07 Michigan's coaches, players and AD thought they knew the outcome and App State (FCS) said otherwise and got paid 400,000

You play to win the game even if you stand no chance

5 yards per play isn’t good but it should have resulted in more than 9 points. Just looking at the numbers, BC fumbled once and turned it over on downs 3 times so that probably impacted their scoring chances.

**** em though. There’s zero positives we get from playing games like this. Spare me the young guys and game experience nonsense. Just lemme know when it’s over and no one is injured.

Those players during a four-year career at a school like that will take a few beatings, but the programs won’t exist without these kind of deals and for the rest of their lives, they get to say they experience playing these four schools during that time in big Time stadium environments that they never get during the rest of their season by the nature of their level Yes, the memory of a beating, but the memory of the experience probably is bragging done right the rest of their life.

Coaches and athletes don't have a negative mindset like that. They go into a game like this thinking, let's bust our tails and see what happens. Every yardage gain, every tackle, it's all a net positive because there is nothing to lose. I promise you that those kids can't wait to compete.

Outside of the obvious $$$ for school... How many college basketball teams would jump at the chance to play against an NBA team?

I get that our players maybe arent as famous a NBA players, but there is no expectation for the BCUs of the world to do do well, so they can pretty much only surpass expectations. Plus, for many of them it is a chance for their families to see them play in big stadium on a nationally televised game. Also gives some of them exposure to potentially be able to transfer to a better team later.
 
Take the under, zero reason to hang 66 on B-C. However, I hope we hang 66 on UF.

Plus Ny Carr, Ray Ray Joseph, Chance Robinson and Daylin Upshaw at WR Luka Gilbert and Brock Schott at TE.

I want to see an OL with Samson, McCoy and Tommy Kinsler at Tackle with Juan Minaya and Demitrius Campbell at Guard with Francavilla at Center.

At DL I want to see Lowe, McConathy, Pickett and Scroggins at DE with Donta Simpson and Daylen Russell at DT

LB I want to see a lot of Wiley, Bonner and Pruitt.

Bryce Fitzgerald, Dylan Day, Markeith Williams and Amari Wallace at Safety

Lots of Chris Ewald, Jaboree Antoine and Ryan Mack at CB.

I hope Luke Nickel and Judd Anderson get lots of reps.
 
I would hammer 42, but I'm not sure where you're seeing that. Vegas insider shows the line opened at 58.5.

Extremely boring game thats never in doubt with some extremely mind boggling defensive errors.

There's a few players that are going to go all out to strut their stuff - and just possibly - they got overlooked.

They show out - and may get an offer from another larger program -

Also, BC gets a payday - a big one.

What some forget is that back in the early days before and even during Schnellenberger's times - our UM teams did much the same thing.

We generally got smeared - but on occasion, playing teams from across the country - we also learned how different regions played different football.

Then, in the final year of Schellenberger - we played for a National Championship against a huge, previously unstoppable run game from Nebraska.

We threw. We ran. We were a bit quicker than them. And we'd seen run heavy games before as well.

They get to measure themselves against a stronger team. They take their measure and the school walks away with a really nice payday.

Some of our younger players get some action - and they too, get to take their measure.

It works for both teams, and both schools - but it really works for the players, so I don't dismiss the benefits for everyone on the field - even though I am confident I know the outcome.
