Miami holds early lead for rising local 2028 RB Terriel Harmon

Miami landed Boca Raton (Fla.) West Boca running back Javian Mallorylast cycle.
Now, the Hurricanes are working on another talented ball carrier from the same high school program — three-star 2028 running back Terriel Harmon.
“It was great to get that offer,” Harmon said. “It was like a childhood moment. I always wanted to get an offer from Miami. It was unexpected. I didn’t know I was going to get it, but I put in the work. It happened. I love Miami. It’s a great school. They have great coaches and players. Everything about Miami is great.”
Harmon is very close to the aforementioned Mallory.
The two actually reconnected this spring when Harmon visited Miami for a practice.
“He said to keep working,” Harmon said. “He wants me to keep my head down and keep working. I push myself every day to be the best. I listen to what he says. He mentors me on things I have to work on. I learn a lot from him.”
At 5-foot-11, 195 pounds, Harmon is a physical runner between the tackles and sees himself as a fit in Miami’s offense.
“I think I would fit in great,” Harmon said. “They have a great running back room with Mark Fletcher, Javian Mallory and a couple of others. I feel like I match Miami’s type of run style.”
Harmon added that he’s already built a strong relationship with new Miami running backs coach Favian Upshaw.
“He’s a great guy,” Harmon said. “Outside of football, I know he has kids. He seems like a great man. As a coach, he’s already been teaching me things. We’ll talk about my film and what I need to do. He’s been great.”
Harmon is set to be back at Miami for at least one game this season and has high expectations for the Hurricanes.
“I’m expecting a great season,” Harmon said. “I want them to win the natty. I just want to see them come together and win.”
So where does Miami stand early on in his recruitment?
“I would say Miami is No. 1,” Harmon said. “They already treat me like a player on the team. My mom loves them. They communicate with me and her all the time. It’s just great.”
Along with Miami, Harmon holds offers from Colorado, Florida State, Georgia Tech, Missouri, West Virginia and others.
Harmon is ranked as the No. 54 running back and No. 731 overall prospect nationally, per the Rivals Industry Ranking.

I need MJC in the 27 class too. We're going to be thin in the RB room very soon after bringing in single RB for multiple classes now. We're playing w/fire in the age of the portal and with graduations.
I'm all in for that 28 RB class.
