While Mario Cristobal and his Miami Hurricanes coaching staff hosted numerous visits this past weekend from many top recruits in the classes of 2026 and 2027, Miami has now offered a four-star wide receiver, Jaden Upshaw, who is related to a current Hurricane.

If you follow the Hurricanes closely, you may recognize the last name "Upshaw," as he is the younger cousin of freshman Miami Hurricanes WR Daylyn Upshaw.

Upshaw is rated as a four-star prospect, ranked as the 127th-best player in the country, the 22nd-best wide receiver in his class, and the 13th-best player in the state of Georgia.

Hailing from Lee County, Georgia, he has received offers from notable programs including the University of Florida, Florida State, Auburn, Georgia Tech, and Clemson.

Upshaw was a significant contributor for Lee County in 2024, helping the team achieve a 13-1 record and reach the state semifinals. He led the team with 63 receptions for 842 yards and 11 touchdowns.

The class of 2026 still needs to be filled, but the groundwork is being done on prospects in the class of 2027.

Recruiting never sleeps.

"Really I'll say the atmosphere is what I like best about Georgia," Upshaw said. "It was definitely one of the best games I've been to."

Next, Upshaw heads to Tallahassee for Florida State's game vs. Miami next Saturday.

It'll be his second time seeing Miami play this season. He visited Miami Gardens earlier this season for its win over Florida. And, the Hurricanes might be setting the pace in this recruitment.

He listed multiple schools that he feels like he's established strong relationships so far, and Miami was the first school he named...

"Miami, UGA, Alabama, TexasA&M, South Carolina, Michigan, Tennessee, Florida State, and USC," Upshaw said.

Upshaw (6-foot-2, 190 pounds) carries a four-star rating of 91. He's the No. 16 wide receiver and No. 103 overall in the 2027 class for 247Sports.

Upshaw just took a visit to Tallahassee to watch Florida State take on Miami. He had a good visit with the Seminoles coaching staff and loved the atmosphere inside Doak.

That said, from what we've learned, it was actually the Hurricanes that made the best impression. The play of freshman receiver Malachi Toney and the overall performance of the Miami offense are what greatly impressed the Peach State native.

According to sources, Miami is one of two teams standing out to Upshaw at this time. The other is Texas A&M.

This weekend, Upshaw will head to College Station to visit the Aggies. It'll be a great opportunity for them to stay even or potentially pull ahead of the Hurricanes with a good visit.

Upshaw loves Miami and just saw them in action for the second time this fall after first visiting Coral Gables to watch the Hurricanes defeat Florida. Now he visits Texas A&M. He's set to visit the second of his two top schools. We'll see if he's ready for a decision shortly after this trip.

Yes please, let’s continue to tap into that next level of perimeter talent. He’d be a great addition even though if he were to commit early we’d have to sweat this one out for sure. This kid is legit.
