The Miami Hurricanes moved up to No. 4 ranking in the Associated Press Top 25 poll following a 49-12 victory over South Florida. This dominant performance solidified their ranking after a previous jump from No. 10 to No. 5 following the 27–24 win over Notre Dame, and now they are No. 4 going into week 4.

Miami's upcoming opponent, the Florida Gators, was preseason ranked in the top-25 but fell out after losses to LSU and USF.
