The Miami Hurricanes coaching staff and coach Jai Lucas have made the cut for another prospect in the transfer portal, this time in James Madison guard transfer Bryce Lindsay.
The Hurricanes are among seven schools that made the cut for the upcoming sophomore from Baltimore. The other teams that are in the running include Florida, Villanova, Vanderbilt, Clemson, USC, and Indiana.
Lindsay was named Sun Belt Freshman of the Year and Sixth Man of the Year guard.
Initially the 6-foo-3, 194-pound guard, committed to South Carolina but later chose to transfer to Texas A&M for the 2023-24 season. He played in eight games before deciding to redshirt and enter the transfer portal. Lindsey then joined James Madison, where he averaged 13.4 points, 2.8 rebounds, and 2.2 assists over 31 games, starting in 13 and playing for 29 minutes per game. He was a great three-point shooter, shooting a 40.8% success rate from beyond the arc and breaking the previous freshman three-point record at JMU, held by Kent Culuko, with 87 three-pointers made last season.
Coming out of high school, Lindsay was recognized as a four-star prospect and ranked as the 25th-best combo guard in his class.
