Miami Listed as 5.5-Point Underdog Against Notre Dame in 2026

Betting sites are releasing their big-time game spreads, and Miami fans are not going to like, or maybe, what BetMGM is setting for Miami versus Notre Dame.

The Hurricanes are coming into the game as 5.5-point underdogs in the BetMGM way-too-early betting odds. We maybe over 100 days away from hitting Hard Rock Stadium, but that doesn’t stop BetMGM from making next season odds.

Miami faced off against Notre Dame last season, where, of course, the Hurricanes won 27-24. However, the Hurricanes were a 3-point home underdog against the Irish. If I have to make an estimated guess, the Hurricanes are probably going to be favored in every other game except for the Notre Dame game this season.

Miami was 11-5 against the spread during the 2025-26 season, failing to cover against Virginia Tech, Syracuse, SMU, Louisville, and Bethune Cookman. However, the Hurricanes were 1-0 as away underdogs. On the other side, Notre Dame was 6-6 ATS and 4-3 as home favorites.

With both teams projected to be in the top-15 by the time this game happens, what are your thoughts on the potential spread? Agree or disagree? And why?
