Bracketology in the month of May? Why not.

We are 44 days removed from the Michigan-UConn National Championship game; however, that is not stopping ESPN analyst Joe Lunardi from creating a 2026-27 bracketology for the upcoming season.

The Hurricanes come into Lunardi's first bracketology as the No. 7 seed in the South Region. He has the Hurricanes facing off against the winner of the (10/10) play in game which features the Iowa Hawkeyes and the Baylor Bears. Lunardi has a potential matchup between Tom Izzo and Jai Lucas in the second round, assuming Miami will get past the first round.

This year, the bracket is expanding to 76 teams, which means there are going to be play in games for majority of the first round as the 10/10 game is one of them.

Lunardi has six ACC teams in the field: (No. 1 Duke), (No. 3 Virginia), (No. 3 Louisville), (No. 7 Miami), (No. 9 North Carolina), (No. 9 NC State).

These pre season bracketologys are useless but really lunardi? I imagine no other pundit would have us as a 7 seed pre season

Also @DMoney @Trinton Breeze these are the types of articles that make sense. Not already being discussed and because of that the article creates conversation if it’s an interesting topic… which this is in slow off-season news cycle

Lunardi has always had anti-Miami bias for whatever reason. Had us losing in Round 1 to Mizzou this year and pretty sure had Drake upsetting us the year we made it to the Final Four.
