Naaahhh...that would make it too hard for the CFP committee to "compare" Miami to other teams above Miami...
Yep, this is why a 7-5 Florida team should be in the CFP...because how can you say "no" to a team with 17 (equivalent) wins???

Right off the top, any preseason poll that has us under Indiana is ridiculous. They will be a good team, but the media has just fallen in love with that weird coach. His team was super old and most had been with him from the previous school and then he made a good call on Mendoza (forget what I think of him as an NFL player).
They'll be lucky to make the playoffs let alone be the #6 overall team in the country. Also, Alabama at 11 is a total joke. Finally, Oregon is perennially an underachiever as is Texas. Georgia deserves to be top 5, but they don't have an elite QB and I think in this modern age of CFB, you really have to have one to go all the way - ie. play at least 3 games against upper-level schools.
Having said all of this, I think that we are the actual #1 team in the country. I think we're the most complete team in the country. But, I would be happier if they and the AP had us a little lower - it's always best to be unerrated as long as you don't have too long of a climb to get up to the top. Of course, with the playoffs, even that is not really a concern.
Let me add: They got pushed around by a Florida team that we absolutely manhandled the week before

Taint seems overrated to me. I am entirely basing this on how awful Sayin played against us though.
I mean, we went 4-1 against half of their current top 10 last year so naturally we should be 7.

I think amongst the top tier teams preseason polls should value the most important position - QB - on the field much more.
Taint, UGA, and IU are ranked too high for my liking. Miami, TAMU, OU, and Ole **** ranked too low.
Put up or Shut up time for Texas and USC. Sark and Riley were hired the same year Mario was, along with Freeman and Brian Kelly for that matter. Mario and Freeman have obviously got things going. Kelly, well………
