We have to treat him with utmost precision considering we are chasing his lil bro as a 2027 prospect. This gives Wingo & Parris a huge opportunity to move up depth chart in the spring.
I totally forgot about Paris. Im excited for him as well.

What they don’t realize is that these are not contracts. It’s not like a school can trade the player.

If a player wants to leave and is adamant about it, all you can do is let them go. Blocking a kid from enrolling is a sucka move.

If you feel you should be compensated, go to court but to block a kid from his educational future and ability to play elsewhere is wrong

Every person who would know (D$, Pete, Cribby) - “let the process play out, Mensah will be at Miami”

Average CIS porster - “he isn’t a Cane yet. We’re clearly f*cked and we’re probably starting Judd”
Again. Those guys bring good info but are wrong alot. Not necessarily any fault of their own, but they just are. People have a right to be skeptical when stuff like this goes sideways, because there are examples when it has, it has gone against the "insiders"

What’s the benefit to him waiting on Mensah while understanding he’s risking enrollment dates at all colleges in the mean time
Then why hasn’t he announced since the deadline to enroll was the 21st?

Because any team will be willing to wait till summer to sign him.
He wants to play with Mensah.
And although everyone says it’s just some bs pettiness from Duke, nothing is for certain.

Already posted in the “other” Mensah thread

Will he wait that long? I mean if mensah case somehow unexpectedly goes bad for Mensah, and barkate waits - then what does he do - all enrollment deadlines have passed

I’m sure we’d accept him anyways but not sure there’s any sense or leverage in him waiting
Im guessing he isnt enrolled at duke for spring either, so what's the harm in waiting. He started at Harvard so im sure school is important, but I doubt he will lose sleep over sitting out a semester and working out to get better.

So he either waits out mensah and comes to miami whenever its finalized or he goes to some other school in the fall.

There is a benefit.. Duke is trying to use his departure as a way to say it’s a direct result of Mensa leaving. As long as this kid has a “possibility” of a return to Duke, they cannot use that.

hes not worried about class but I doubt the plan is to miss spring practice at his new school willingly

the only thing I can think of is the university gave both barkate and Mensah until the hearing to enroll

committing before the hearing probably hurts public perception

if Mensah somehow doesn't get approved then it seems like barkate will come regardless, otherwise will have to find another / worse program in summer after missing all spring

I know someone who talked to Cam Ward directly, on the night of Early Signing day, and Cam told them he was going to Miami. I didn't divulge that info because things change, as they did. He waffled, and didn't commit until Jan 13th. I would have been roasted on here, even though the info came straight from the horse's mouth. It's impossible to be right all the time when the people in question don't even know what they're going to do. Having said all that, the folks telling us to calm down are right. Mensah will be a Cane.
