Im not worried about the designs, we got real men in charge again. God bless Joe E and Co. If Nike is investing this much, they aren't going to give us slop. I was fine with either company as long as the $ amount was right but Im excited we get the best of both worlds with Nike

You can thank Mark Richt, not Adidas, for the current jerseys we wear.

Pretty weird that Nike never managed to put Alabama, OSU, Florida, LSU, etc. in such ugly garbage....
Nike had UF in some ugly *** uni's lmao

I’m convinced a lot of our fans are illiterate. If you actually read anything on the previous deal, it was obvious thst Adidas was upping our cash and merch by a significant amount. In some estimates it was almost double what Nike offered.

Nike, nor Adidas can force any school to do anything. If a school(or a coach) doesn’t want their teams to wear certain things, they can easily say no. In most cases, the apparel you see on the field was signed off on by the University, with heavy input during the design process. Mark Richt didn’t like the feather unis, he wanted a traditional template and that was EXACTLY what Adidas provided. If Mario wants that same look, Nike will provide it.

You are borderline...special needs.

Yes, when a NEW contract comes out, it always "ups cash and merch".

As for "some estimates" that say it "almost doubled what Nike offered", that is a load of bull****. It has been well-reported that Nike offered a high-royalty/low-guarantee contract, and adidas offered a high-guarantee/low-royalty contract.

It is impossible to know whether one contract offer "doubled" another, but I strongly suspect that the high-royalty contract would have paid a lot more over the last few years of (a) Miami winning more games, and (b) Fanatics becoming a major seller of sports merch.

So since we’re back with Nike— are we getting the “swoosh” or the “Jordan” logo like Michigan?
I’ve never understood the difference since both are Nike brands

Does Jordan operate as a completely separate entity these days? Or could this lead to some Miami x Jumpman designs?

Add me to the list and let's revisit this in three years. Nike is tanking. Stock down almost 80%. Guaranteed they'll **** up the unis and we'll end up with some upside down U or bra strap cookie cutter stupid ****. People have short memories. I guess you love having the same uniform design as Utah State.

Seems plausible.

Our uniforms will change "because Nike stock price".

Sure. Just type that bull**** and hit "Post reply"...

The bird wings down the pants leg and that big awful green U ruined the entire season. I hated watching the games. It was so fitting to where the program had fallen to

Yep. And it would have ruined the 2016 and 2017 seasons too, if not for the "throwback" that Richt forced the team to wear for the rest of 2016 and beyond.

I KEPT NAMES OF EVERYONE ON THIS SITE THAT DEFENDED ADIDAS FOR 12 YEARS
Defended what? That Miami should ALWAYS take the best deal? Adidas didn’t have the best deal this time, failed to match and lost a big property as a result. That’s called business and if more of our fans actually understood that, we wouldn’t have people crowing today. Nike finally did the right thing and will reap the rewards.
Show me the money. Also idk if it was ever true, but I heard that the adidas deal had a stipulation that every subsequent contract if the aav passes us that our cash payment would automatically be equivalent to that.

Nike paid us so we sign with them, idc about merch tbh. Sign our athletes and put them as the face of marketing and give us money. Side note, this should be a real boost for basketball, adidas did hamper us there.

The best about this announcement is this:

On the CIS podcast this morning, D$ and AR were talking about the Adidas jersey release and just glazing Adidas and their merch. But then Barry Jackson drops the real scoop of Miami and Nike agreeing on a deal, D$ hops back on and does another show claiming that he heard information about the Miami/Nike partnership back before Miami played Stanford in week 1. Sure, dude.
You think Geo had the Intel and D$ didn't? ..... Ok

Idk why y'all act like Adidas uniform we have haven't been extremely good since Richt. Really strange. Like I get not liking the neon nights alt or maybe the camp one cause pants should have been black.... But y'all tripping. Nike needs to release their version of our current uni for us next yr. I think we should get a green 06 and white 01, but if our current design is our standard uni going forward, why wouldn't people be happy?

I'm going to ask a simple "stock price" question, for all the "but Nike's stock price" geniuses.

WHO LOSES MONEY WHEN THE STOCK PRICE GOES DOWN?

Nike?

Or the shareholders of Nike?

Thank you. Do we need a second lesson?

Yeah those gator skin ones...might be the worst of all time lol. How many times has LSU worn those or any alternates though? This is from 2016 and they do not wear alts even remotely regularly. Adidas had us camouflaged with the grass last year.
Remember when Nike had the one arm sleeve a different color from the jersey? lol both have had their share of **** jerseys. However, recently the big brands haven't been caught with ugly *** uni's like Adidas has had us in recently (camo, new Miami Nights, those ocean recycle jerseys)

Also it couldn't be any clearer, the Timing with which the Admin and Mario has flipped this football (and basketball) program has quite literally been perfect.

I mean the only way the timing could have been better is if we had been successful at same time Texas/OU/USC/UCLA all moved. But even then that was pre FSU/Clemson/ACC settlement so who even knows what would have been possible there....

But like we get successful right as NIL becomes paramount, Apparel deal ends, AND next stage of realignment is about to kick off.... I mean

This.

And spoiler alert - there are going to be Nike things that they put us in that will suck. It's gonna happen. It might be the main uniform, it might be an alternate - ****, it might be fine for football/basketball but sucky for baseball or something.

Will those who are ride or die Nike join us to call those things out when they inevitably do happen? Or are they going to tell us that clams and palm fronds are just that new 🔥, bruh? Let's wait and see.
