Miami punter Dylan Joyce was named to the weekly Ray Guy Award “Ray’s 8” for his performance against USF, the Augusta Sports Council announced Monday.

Joyce, a junior from Kyabram, Australia, delivered three punts in Miami’s win over USF with an average of 45.6 yards per attempt. He placed two punts inside the 20-yard line, including one inside the 10.

The Ray Guy Award is presented annually to the nation’s top collegiate punter. Each week, the Augusta Sports Council selects standout performers to its honor roll based on average, net yards, placement inside the 20, and overall impact on the game.

Miami returns to action Saturday, September 20, against Florida at Hard Rock Stadium, with kickoff set for 7:30 on ABC.

thats impressive bc he rarely punts
maybe thats why he has such a high average

its nice bc it wasnt too long ago when we would lose games due to feagles
and then we had years where our best player on the team was a punter
