These dudes haven't even played their senior seasons yet, there is still a lot of evaluation going on, a lot of new prospects emerging, and a lot of shuffling to be done with the rankings as the guys who run these sites try to keep up with guys who really know their stuff. I laud our coaches for being ahead of the curve for many prospects (like a poster noted above: Lammons, Rudolph, Collins, Flowers, even a guy like Amari Cooper)

I am impressed by Mayes' tape though and love his potential. He also does seem to have some natural playmaking ability. I bet he makes a lot of noise this season at MNW

No, they are fully developed and they all hit their ceilings. There is no time for improvement and final judging is due and proper.

:ibisroflmao: wow a 4 star guy that was a stud compared to a Zero star guy...yea I see the comparison

lets hope this kid works out and works hard his senior year at MNW and he stays healthy....lets NOT compare him to a NFL guy weed or no weed

If hes a zero star guy then its fair to say that this 6'1" 190lb athlete that's good enough to go to MNW hasn't been ranked yet correct? Maybe you should pump the brakes rather than act like a know it all ******* who knows nothing at all. When this kid blows up shortly you'll change your tune.

Yea I am the guy that calls all recruits LOCKS and gets a boner when any guy gets an offer from us...grow up guys its a few days away from real football....see you at the games...

Seems you're the guy who has never admitted to being wrong about anything and just sidesteps **** with half truths and hope it goes away

I wish I could claim that...but I am wrong on a lot of things, but I have learned over the years to let things happen before shouting my mouth off...I never rip kids or players , 99% of the time not even coaches....I am a complete nobody that has been part of the program since 81...there have been tons of diamonds in the rough and god knows we need some....5 star guys are great but along comes the baggage and most likely a parent to make sure all was promised if talent is really there at this level or not....Not every day you get a Luke Kuechly that shows up on campus.

I am huge believer in this staff ( barrow and Jethro have my concerns)...I am pretty sure this young man brings more to our program than any stars or talent...if he is positive and works hard he has a future.....again I don't just throw out stuff or make stuff up been around too long, I welcome this young man with open arms I just made a mistake for not saying he is the honey badger 2.0...see there I admitted an error.

lets all hope some DLs are in our future as well...We need those big fellows....or maybe I am wrong there too....

The recruiting services have always missed Dade kids. I've been watching this stuff for 25 years, and there were always kids in Dade who went under the radar. I think it was Bobby Bowden who commented on the fact you had so many big schools and so many kids in the south that some were missed. Besides, there were never any major recruiting gurus based in Dade who knew Dade kids the way UM coaches would.

and they blew a few that were going to be stars...it works both ways look no further than MNW in 07..they ( media espn, yahoo) lit that school up with nfl this nfl that....I am sure kids are missed but today its harder to miss with camps, 7 on 7...You tube vids self promotion etc...kids are all over the TV in South fl and there are 100s of websites to promote these kids.....what is missed is what Golden is after, loyalty, hard worker and a dedicated heart to the program.

It really is unbelievable that out of all the 4 and 5 star rated players on that team, the guy who has had BY FAR the most college and now NFL success is no star, JUCO bound Lavonte David. And I'm pretty sure the lack of hype he had along the way played a factor in that

So does your opinion change now that he is a 3 star guy instead of a "Zero" star guy on rivals the day after he commits?

I like this kid alot but are we really comparing him to a heisman finalist before his senior year of highschool?

Take it with a grain of salt. Since he frequently strips the ball, the honey badger was the first to come to mind I guess. That's as far as the comparison goes to me. But I feel that the staff knows they can mold him into the type of player they want and think he can be. That's why I have no issue with any commits the coaches take. They have a plan.

Id love a DB that causes turnovers. can he play safety?

Exactly my point here. Kid has a knack for creating turnovers. That what TM7 was all about. Again comparison was directed at on field performance from watching his film.

Not sure why that ruffled some feathers.

when i see a 6'2-6'3 CB i think richard sherman, i hope he's that kind of player when he gets on campus

Receivers are getting bigger and bigger. Gonna need some long corners like Mayes and Burns.
