I’m mixed on this discussion
On one hand, I want a dominant OLIne and physicality which is ultimately what you NEED if you want to stack up w bama and georgia

So I’m fine with the tough guy mentality and culture he is trying to instill…..by the way, for you youngsters Miami had very physical OLines in 80-90s in our hey day

Conversely, the inside zone same ******* play is so stale, as someone mentioned there has to be some outside zone jet sweep pitch plays to get the edge and keep d honest!

We have zero pre snap motion which is insane in 2023!!!!!! 50% of plays should have motion at minimum.

QB- you all know I f ing hate tvd
Emory was thrust into ****** spot because meathead Mario didn’t bother to let him play past two games….dude showed team how to compete w his run early and yeah he missed throws, yeah he is not strongest …he is true freshman and I love his leadership it’s a big bummer he got hurt going ALL OUT for this team.

We are still a dozen players away and maybe QB…not sure if Emory is it though I like the intangibles

Game was lost on the last drive of the first half and first drive of the second half.

Both times we had a chance to put a dagger and take all the momentum and both times we played for and settled for a field goal. 6 plays for 22 yards and 5 plays for 14 yards.

Definition of Marioball.

Offense only works if you can run consistently and to do that you need more of a threat at passing. Unfortunately got at least 4 more years of this. Only hope is somehow Mario gets enough big name recruits but dont see how that can happen when can't win more then 7 or 8 games a year

We lost by 7 and had the ball at end for a game tying/winning drive with a true freshman completing 33% of his passes lol. And we started with pretty horrible field position most of the game.

But yeah, sure FSUs offense is SOOO much better than ours. Lol.
Could also just be that our D is way better than theirs…pause

We played a very hard fought game against the number 4 team in the country..CALM DOWN NANCYS! But we need miami football. Emory played great…Dawson can go.. when has he ever had a TE go to NFL or be a college star..his mindset is off, we might as well be west virginia…we need MIAMI football

Miami went down 27-20 to Florida State. The game was hard fought, but from Miami's perspective, I can't help but be frustrated. I understand that the Hurricanes were short-handed given their quarterback situation, but I can't help but ask myself this one very important question.

Are we stuck with 'MarioBall'?

Where we try our best to be physical, run the ball, win the time of possession, and against any decent team score right around 20 points?

Once again, the effort -- especially defensively was for the most part very good -- but I can't help but to question the whole offensive approach as they made the decision to go with Emory Williams behind center.

After getting down 10-0, Miami, battled back. They even took an early 13-10 lead after the first possession for the second half after they recovered a surprise onside kick.

But here's what I wanted to focus on. Late in the first half, Miami was down 10-7 but deep in FSU territory. And from there, they proceeded to just run the ball into a wall of garnett-and-gold. There was nothing in terms of a bootleg, or a run-pass option for Williams. Just runs inside. Yeah, be physical. That's the name of the game, right?

Then in the first drive of the second half, after Mark Fletcher broke off a nice run. Once again, the 'Canes just decided to jam the ball inside, never mind that the 'Noles were making a huge commitment to stopping the run game (which after a series of big runs by Don Chaney in the first half, never really got going.)

That drive bogged down, and Miami was forced into a field goal attempt.

I get it, we had Williams at QB, but there comes a time when you have to give the guy you choose as your starter to at least loosen up the defense.

What had to be 14 potential points, was instead just 6, against a high powered offense that you knew was going to score a certain amount of points.

Yeah, Cristobal wants to be tough and hard-nosed, but will he ever be fast, fun and productive(on offense)? As you saw the Florida State offense, you saw one that was multi-faceted and got the ball into their playmakers hands. Miami's defense actually played well considering the lack of non-support they received for much of the second half.

The last drive was interesting to say the least. Miami actually ran a draw that went nowhere as time was winding down deep in their own territory. It was maddening to see offensive coordinator, Shannon Dawson, implore his offense to hurry up -- this after calling a draw with Fletcher, who's really a bit of a plodding muscle back.

Again, did we really need to run the ball at this stage in the game?

'MarioBall' baby, it's not just a game plan -- it's a lifestyle.

Eventually the drive ended with four Tyler Van Dyke incompletions, after he came in for an injured Williams, who suffered a bad looking arm injury in getting a first down. Hey, even quarterbacks in this offense under Cristobal have to be physical!!! (Young Emory went out a hero).

So yeah, there's two game left in this regular season which has turned very sour as the offense has gone south.

Just two more games to watch this offense, which is broken.

Does Cristobal even think that it needs to be fixed?

I’m so glad you see, but everyone needs to see it and stop blaming it all on Dawson. No one who has ever run AIR RAID just runs straight dives all F’ING game. Especially when your OC is record saying (When you get conservative you get beat). Funny how after the GT debacle we took 2 knees in back 2 back games. To go to overtime. I wonder who made those calls🤔 NOT DAWSON.

The problem is that Mario sees no flaws with his game plan. He’s an obstinate sob who will continue to blame it on lack of execution. Couple that with the fact that he is cognitively impaired and you can’t help but feel helpless. I thought the 8 million was for the best staff that money can buy but it turns out that it’s just for a really expensive funeral. RIP Miami Football

I promise you I knew it was over when we didn’t take one shot at the endzone. After recovering the onside kick.

I disappeared from here a few weeks ago after GT game because I know Mario is not the answer it’s obvious in these 2 seasons…are we better (culture, toughness, talent) sure I guess but his offensive philosophy is insane and honestly we will average 8 wins with Mario..this program should’ve had a real coaching search but look at the past 5 hires..anyways I love the canes but I have adjusted my expectations and won’t let this ruin my Saturdays and not let this **** get to me and I recommend y’all boys do the same

Right there with you….I love the Canes and have forever but I’m not about to kill myself worrying about a program that doesn’t seem to want to fix itself…watching the game after it’s over is the best thing for me health and family wise…maybe next year will be different but I doubt it…

Mario is a idiot I hope somebody close to him let him have it this is straight bull****tt

I’m not sure Mario would hear it if they told him…he’s that fcking dense and thinks he’s the smartest guy in the room and all those people out there doing something different and succeeding and will eventually see his way is the best and only way..

We’re better on the OL. They’re better at WR, QB , RB and TE.

Coleman, Wilson, Benson and Travis are of serious concern to DC’s.

Our DC is stellar and made a serious difference and that helped.

On the offensive side though…

They have one better wr than us -Coleman. Wilson wasn’t doing much. Wasn’t worried about him at all. George played better than both anyways.

Te agree. Qb agree. Rb meh. Benson is good. Probably better than our guy. But he’s didn’t do much more than Chaney. Not some crazy difference.

I’m saying overall over the entire season. Our DC is stellar and we were in it late in this game.

Well over the entire season I still think our WRs are better as a whole. Again Coleman is the only dude they got. Wilson is fine. Doesn’t do anything more than colbie young.

I’d take benson over our rbs. But again it’s not some major difference either.

Te is imo the biggest difference and that’s cause ours is trash. I don’t really know much about their te tbh.

Regardless they weren’t even as productive as us, and it qb sucked balls.

imo Mario/Mirabal is essentially run game coordinators. Dawson hasn’t pull his weight. We need accept that this team will rely on physical run game with this regime. Currently I see a OC who doesn’t have a qb while not having the art of calling plays. Play calling isn’t about the current play you’re calling. It’s about the play you want to call in 3-5 plays. I’ll never understand dink and dunk with physical run game. Imo we need to increase the deep shots to create explosive plays or get cheap yards with the gimmicky ****t.
