These interviews serve the players more than the fans. If you're going to come up there and just suck the teams **** what's the point. No coach is ever going to sound completely satisfied

No team is really ever going to be perfect and not have room for improvement. It's a good thing that Diaz notices the flaws and wants to work on them before the season begins.

Dorito on the other hand probably never tried to fix flaws because he never noticed flaws. Playing 15 yards away from the LOS didn't count as a flaw to him. He thought it was the way you should play defense.

I'm amazed how some posters seem to want our coaches to act.

They just want the coaches to go to practice and say "everything about the team is perfect, nothing to improve on now."

If that's what a coach acts like then what's the purpose of having a coach?

Manny wasn't creating low expectations. He just said they need more out of the twos to be successful. He even acknowledged the twos are going up against a great offense.

I think we improve a ton this year on D. Beasts next year.

If Manny posted on this board anonymously, and he wrote the stuff exactly like he said it in this video...a lot of ppl on this board would slam him as being a troll

Some fragile people around here have no tolerance for any critical thinking. Has to be 100 percent sunshine all the time or they panic.

Players play like they're coached. If the defense is soft that's an indictment on Diaz.

I get the feeling Diaz is using the press to motivate, which is fine if it works. Whatever it takes. Just get it done. He's got a monster DL and some very good experienced DBs. The talent at LB is also very good albeit inexperienced. He's got plenty of tools with which to work especially against a fcking feeble Coastal.

My eyes showed me they're being coached to be wildly aggressive. We'll see that, though I'd be shocked if anything of value is showed till at least game 3. My concern is whether he takes too many chances. But, you're going to see some next level **** at DL. Perhaps it's only "practice," but in a small sample, I've seen more rips, swim moves and guys slipping blockers than I did the last 5 years combined. Part of that is scheme. Another part of that is Coach Kul working with some talented guys.

Diaz's biggest test will be to not go too far off the reservation in terms of risk.

"...golden was all about the process..."

You know what is a striking difference? How much less Richt and staff use the word "process". It seemed to me Golden and staff couldnt form a sentence without using it.

It's become one of those over used "buzz words/phrases" that more often than not, who ever is using it has no idea what they are talking about.

Instead of "follow the process", Richt says, we need to score, or we need to get better in this area...etc...

Instead of "our players are going through a process and learning to buy-in"...Diaz says. when we hunt, we will hunt in packs...

The differences between the previous to current staffs is striking from top to bottom...

Go Canes.

Agreed. Diaz is actually talking about being better this year. And I appreciate that he admits that not everything is perfect. If he pretended that everything is perfect and there's nothing to improve on then he shouldn't be defensive coordinator.

I can't imagine Donofrio saying this. Because I honestly think Donofrio didn't expect the defense to play any less awful than it did under him.

Agree with you all three. "Process" seemed to be Golden & Dorito's coach-speak for "If you put up with our lazyass, clueless and disorganized methods, you'll eventually figure out what not to do. Therefore you'll get better."
